Wouldn't the Family Dollar reissue of Bee considered part of the legends line? He is also been repainted as Cliffjumper. Optimus is part of this set and has been repainted as Magnus. And Screamers is repainted as Skywarp.

No, those are Legions, not Legends.

    Different size, different articulation, etc.

They're not going to give new heads to everyone so when they do, they have to be used appropriately. Wreck-Gar gets a new head but Pipes doesn't. Pipes is not really a character who deserves a new head despite being a remold from Huffer originally.

And its just not worth doing a second Legends truck cab even if Huffer and Pipes do look different to Optimus Prime in robot mode. I'd rather that new mold go to someone a lot more visually different than those two, such as Shockwave.

I think it would be better if Hasbro packaged the characters in whichever mode is NOT represented by the box art. Shockwave is packaged in robot mode right next to the illustration of Shockwave in robot mode. It's not immediately obvious to a kid what he turns into.

Here's an idea, they can look on the back of the box.

Pipes not having a new head sculpt is disappointing. Using the same mold & transformation scheme was already cheating the character; it might have been better if Hasbro had not bothered at all. The head is such a tiny piece of hollow plastic, in itself inexpensive and easily swapped out, so why not just make one?

Some characters, like the Seekers can get away with being straight re-paints without any re-molding, but some need just a little tweak like CW BlackJack & Rodimus' heads. Even the recent, rather lazy CW Legends Warpath got a new head.

Maybe a 3P or Shapeways head can be made cheaply soon?

Shockwave is a must for me, I had hoped that the amazon updating would give a glimpse as to TRU's "Planet of Junk" platinum set, for the life of me I can't find any info on it

Its not as easy or as cheap as you think to just make a new head, even for a toy this size. Plus whatever it costs can be better used elsewhere. A new head would have been cool but I didn't expect Pipes to have one even before he was announced.

I expect Gears and Swerve to be repainted into Brawn and Outback without new heads as well. When they eventually get released.

CW Huffer: Orange Prime with Huffer´s head grafted unto it
CW Pipes: Orange Prime with Huffer´s head grafted unto it, painted blue

It´s like taking the Legends Seeker mold, painting it red and calling it "Powerglide". Almost all mini vehicles have their own molds by now, why not Huffer/Pipes? Talk about stumbling on the finishing line, no?

Y'know that Legends Class Autobot Pipes being redecoed from Huffer is VERY similar to Puffer, a repaint of an unchanged original G1 Huffer mold.

The OP mold got a remolded head in the way of Huffer in the first place, the chances of two remolds on a Scout class fig are slim to none.

Also, the days of every TF getting an original mold are over. We are going to have repaints/remolds, at least these give visual Huffer/Pipes clues. Look at that PCC nightmare people claimed was Classics, would you rather get something like that?

Are we to assume by this point that Brawn and Gnaw are pretty much MIA forever? Listings were found ages ago, but nothing ever surfaced.

apparently my friend who works at toys R us mentioned a platinum "planet of Junk clash" though this could just be some placeholder like the listings for the SDCC combiner hunter and devastator sets

Or they're been waiting to reveal them for an appropriate time. Brawn could be the next use of the Swindle mold, if he's not a new mold entirely; which would also explain why he hasn't been revealed.

Gnaw is likely going to come some time after Wheelie, and may end up being in a boxset themed on the '86 movie.
