Well, I got four days off from work so I finally took my brother's advice and put up some clips on the new website I'm working on.

Feel free to be critical, but keep in mind, no immitation will ever be as good as the original voicecast of Transformers. Hopefully, I do them no dishonor. Try not to be too brutal. After all, I may be able to mimic robots; but I'm still only flesh and blood. Enjoy! Or hate it, whatever.

    Grimlock and Sludge
    Ironhide 01
    Ironhide 02
    Optimus Prime & Megatron 01
    Optimus Prime & Megatron 02
    Starscream 01
    Starscream 02
    Starscream & Megatron 01
    Starscream & Megatron 02

And these two you can compare pitch and tempo. Not that I claim to be or will EVER be as good as Peter Cullen.

Optimus Prime (Transformers The Game Opening Cinematic)
The REAL Optimus Prime (Transformers The Game Opening Cinematic)

You will probably have to clik SAVE in order to play them. I can't get the direct links to OPEN. Or if they STILL will not play right all of my clips are uploaded on my website (if you can get them to work there). They all work fine in my browser, even when I'm not logged into my site. Check out the new Spongebob clip there too. I'm adding The Flying Dutchman and Plankton later.

Here are all the direct URLs. I don't think there are any other ways to post them here other than attaching an on-line media player to this post! lol For those of you who STILL can't listen, I'm sorry. I'm new at this.

    http://manof1000voices.com/Documents/Game narraration.mp3

    http://manof1000voices.com/Documents/REAL game.mp3

The new website is manof1000voices.com and there are other samples of some of my impressions, but they are non-Transformer related. It's still under construction so please forgive any typos or wordiness. And be patient while the audio clips load.

Maybe some of you fanfiction writers will send me some scripts to voice or some of you could let me audition for some voluntary dubbing work. I'd also be happy to take requests for my characters to say some stuff of your own choosing, whether it be for a voicemail message or just for fun... but remember to keep it PG. I'm a family-man. All that being said, I am a bit of a perfectionist and I know they aren't perfect but they were still fun to do and I'm pretty pleased with them.

ONE LAST THING!!! I'M NOT A PROFESSIONAL AND I DON'T MAKE ANY CLAIMS TO THAT EFFECT!!! Although, I'd like to be one day.

    ~Jon3.0

Pending recordings include Wheeljack, Cyclonus, 07 MOVIE Ironhide, my favorite character, SHOCKWAVE and more. I promise no more editing this post.

Your Optimus is pretty good. Sludge is awesome. Starscream sounds fantastic. Your Megatron needs work.

Your sound clips keep getting cut off during mid speech. You should fix that. Your Ironhide sounded pretty decent, and I liked what little bit of Sludge actually played, but I think all around you need to talk with a little more emotion.
I should some of my voices on my website. I do a pretty decent Dinobot.

Just letting you know, I was just on your site, and none of your audio clips are actually finishing. You stop during mid sentence on each one. Just thought you should know.

starscream needs a slightly higher pitch(on the synthesizer probably, or whatever it is you're using to manipulate it), you speak too fast as optimus(easy change to make), ironhide sounds ok, grimlock is pretty good, sludge sounds just about dead on.

Megatron... there's something missing. A raspiness, gravely... something.

I wanna say go smoke a cigar and inhale the whole thing and try it again, but that's a bad idea.

edit: your movie trailer guy impersonation is missing the same thing, I just can't put my finger on it. I dunno, you just need to make the voices sound older or something.

wow, dude, you do a great job!
    here's some constructive crits -
slow down when you do Op just a bit.
A WEE bit more raspiness for Megs.
Starscream's great for when he's speaking softly, how about when he's off his rocker? the way he sounded after Skyfire said "they have done no wrong", and re replies, "BUT YOU HAVE - TRAITOR!!!". i do an ok screamer, and i've noticed it takes me about half an hour of throwing my throat to scrap before i get it right, every time (which is why when i record lines for him for a project of mine, he'll be LAST...)
Grimlock - instead of trying to sound like him, be him. i really can't think of another way to put it, it's ALMOST there. Sludge is SPOT-ON PERFECT... you'd probably do a great Swoop too because of that.
Ironhide's great, i can't really say anything against it.

regardless, those are just some constructive crits, cuz i know everyone that puts up stuff usually would like something they can take back to their work and improve it. I am HIGHLY impressed by your work. Great job, and keep at it!!

This is going to seem to be a bit of a cop-out but my kids gave me some kind of throat infection a few days before I recorded. I knew going into this I was going to get a lot of flack for Megatron. I really struggled with his voice and with Grimlock. I nearly stripped what was left of my throat trying to finish. Once my throat is back strong enough again, I will re-record with some Megatron tidbits. The weird thing is that it doesn't hurt to do Optimus and I kind of figured it would. If anything, it actually made it sound better.

And because Optimus is such a beloved character, I knew no one would be satisfied with my impression regardless of how good it was. But I still think it's better than Dr Smoov's.

Just so everyone knows, I matched pitch and tempo of all my characters with the real voices whilst watching the old shows on Youtube.

PS That was my first attempt at Starscream! I was actually suprised at how well it turned out. There was no synthesizer involved. I used Creative's software to add the digital echo (Flanger, if you care to know) to make them sound metallic, but the rest is all me. I didn't use any kind of pitching software either. It just makes it sound fake.

O and btw, I didn't know that the clips weren't playing back properly. Is everyone having that problem or just Chaos Prime?

Thanks for all the comments though. And if anyone kind find some quotes for Sludge I'd be much obliged. Couldn't find hardly anything, believe it or not. His is actually one of the easier voices to do.

I'm going to try uploading them to FILEDEN instead. I hate that site though because the bandwidth resets every month and all the files will be erased.

Thank you... it only took you, what, FIFTEEN YEARS to finally record these.

I am the brother of which jon3pnt0 speaks. We've been TF fans since we were kids, and jon can vouch that I used to ride my bike to K-mart to watch Transformers in their electronics department after school because we didn't have a TV at home.

And we used to go around the house talking in tandem imitating Soundwave, much to the annoyance of our mom.

I've been begging him for years to at least record his Prime impression and get it online so other fans can hear it.

Thanks for finally taking the time to record these, jon. They're a good start. You already know my criticisms--remember the Three P's: pacing, pitch, and potted meat.

No, wait... sorry, the third "P" is placement.

Seriously though, relax when you're recording these. Have fun with them. Don't think so much about the acting part of it. Your strength is live performance, so imagine you're entertaining an audience and the live aspect will bring the performance out of you.

Prime needs to be lower and a little slower, and think a little further down in the chest. (There's your three "P's" right there, see?)

And wait for your voice to be back 100% again before trying Megatron again. It requires too much rasp and that salty, throaty sound that it will wear your voice thin or hoarse. And trying that when you're already a little ill will just make it worse. (Lookit! I made a rhyme!)

    I don't remember you ever doing Sludge--that one's great!

For everyone else, Jon's impressions live are impeccable. Absolutely dead-on. He does Cullen's Prime well enough to be a professional voicematch for him.

And bear in mind that Jon has no formal acting training and he's just now using recording software for the first time. Jon's a brilliant impressionist live, but practicing actual voice acting (wholly different than just doing impressions) and gaining experience recording--his stuff's just going to keep getting better, trust me.

    "STUPID I'M STUPID!" :lol

Awesome! It's not only about putting out a similar voice, it also has to do with acting, and you do both very well :)

Sounds nice but yr OP didn't quite grab me...on the other hand yr Megs is a killer.
it's awesome & the gnarly tones & sore throat like sound is almost spot-on.

Your Ironhide and Sludge are great! Your Starscream has these brief moments where it's spot-on, I think with a little more work he'd be great as well. The only one I wasn't a fan of was Megs, but I can't imagine anyone other than Welker being able to do that voice :)

I'd be happy to record some new stuff.

Everybody is giving advice and nobody's suggesting lines of dialogue for me to record. I was hoping for both. But YOU guys got to remember, YOU will probably be the harshest critics I have when it comes to doing TF impressions because everyone here is a huge fan. If I attempt to do this professionally, I think being toughened up by hardcore fans will help me with anything production companies or studios have to throw at me. And also keep in mind, I did all these recordings in just a few hours in only one night. It takes time, patience, practice, a little energon and a lot of luck. =)

Biggest problem for me is the "getting dead on" part. I spend so much time trying to get it PERFECT and it seems like the harder I try, the LESS perfect it sounds (to ME anyway). Plus, the annoying FAN noise I get from my PC while I record irritates the CRAP out of me! I'm investing in some new recording equipment with my income tax return this year which I HOPE include some noise reducing parts for my PC.

But the hardest thing for me is that half LIKE one voice and the other half don't think it's right or don't like it, but the same ones like a different that the OTHER half don't. It's all very confusing. I know my Prime is decent. Megs is still pretty new and VOICEROY is right about how hard it is to get it with a sore throat. I could barely speak the next day. That's why I didn't record Megs screaming anything like "Decepticons, retreat!" And the laugh is a killer too. I was actually pretty pleased with how well Starscream turned out... first time trying it and all. It wasn't spot-on but it seemed very close to me (at least his normal level of speaking); still working on INSANE SCREAMING Starscream impression.

Gotta find some new stuff for Sludge to say. Working on some others as well.

You can check out the new Spongebob recording on my site that I did yesterday though by clicking here if the link works. NOT that it has anything to do with TF. Just thought I'd throw it out there. Thought about doing a fake movie trailer for HALO too.
