Really wondering why they didn't put ratcheting joints for the forward and backward movement on the thighs, and only put it for the side to side motion.

TFsource ended up charging my card and shipped all CDMW parts. lol So now I have every CDMW King's part including both sword versions.

Everything happens for a reason right? Will see if I can install some sort of ratchet joint system into the thighs.

Since the last piece is such a dissapointment I am selling off all my CD parts. I'll just stick to Feral Rex and maybe Warlord

Here is a great video showing how this add-on is such a POS. I love how the reviewer goes from excited to downright disappointed. I went through the same stages as I assembled.

    Transformers Predaking (CDMW-36 Waist & Thigh) - Part 12 - YouTube

What I find interesting is that companies like TFC, Fans Toys, etc. will release updates to fix their problems but CrazyDevy will just pass it off as junk and not care about the customer.

I did open up the crotch to find that the forward and backward joints HAVE gears that would have been used for ratchets. Why they decided to release this add-on prematurely and not complete the ratchets is beyond me.

out of the plastic, your gonna have issues... but once u put some super glue in areas that needs it, its' good as gold... since i had it... it still hasn't fallen... so i would suggest to take the time and do some superglue so ur KING go crashing down to the ground...

When I think about the fact that I bought one of the Fans Project insecticons for less than the CD hip/thigh piece alone, my heart fills with rage.

Where did you add the superglue? I want to make sure I get it in the right areas.

so when u take it apart, u want to put superglue around the area where u insert the thigh piece into the crouch pieces... b/c the thicker it is, the tighter it is so the upper body wont fall forward or backwards...

Maybe someone can copy the design and make ratchets where it is missing and make a ton of cash since the r&d is already done for it.

My end result for CDMW-36, very loose on one leg's connect and wants to lean. Not really an issue at the end of the day.

Got my CDMW-36 today. Ewww... Left leg connection is very loose, I'll have to add superglue there. He can stand one cool pose, but stability isn't the best. Looks better with, but feels worse too!

I must say, the engineering for the waist was sub par and i had to superglue the waste...and will probably do another round on the top half of the crotch when i take it apart some day..

    BUT

This guy looks friggin awesome now!!!! The little clip from the mane/gun to raise Divebomb up helps the look immensely instead of PK looking like he has a gimpy shoulder.

Engineering gets a generous 2/10 but aesthetic gets a 9/10!

I look at the pic of their upgraded Predaking and I look at my un-upgraded one...this thing looked sooooo much better without the upgrade parts - and that's hard for me to admit, because I actually like some of their kits.

I feel the exact opposite, I wouldn't put him together without the parts for display again

Putting aside the cost and engineering aspects of the upgrade kits and comparing only the aesthetics of the two....

Which do you prefer? And more importantly....why?

Upgraded Predaking looks like he has a serious case of thunder thighs going on to me.

Unfortunately, you need to have the upgraded thigh piece in that pic to fully bring out the aesthetic of the upgraded piece for us to make the true comparison.
