    *looks at shelf of Windblades*

    What was that now?

Toys, unlike movies and music, don't come with ratings. So you can't say something is "only" for one particular audience.

The problem isn't that parents will buy this for their kids...it's that as a licensed official product, it sends the message "This is what Transformers is about."

Hasbro and Takara have been marketing Windblade as a central figure to the modern lore, to have this pop up as part of that knocks her down a peg when you see all of these Primes, Megatron, Bee, with their style...and then her as a pin-up.

Like people keep saying: If we had a variety of female Furai bots with a diverse array of styles (Windblade, Arcee, Strika, Strongarm, etc) then it would be easier to accept that this was just one design choice out of many possibilities.

But it's not. Their first dive into a female character comes out looking like this? Bleh. At least if they were going to go that route pick a character who'd fit better (Blackarachnia is right there).

Seeing as she's a giant-ass robot and, by the look of all those moving parts inside her legs, you're likely to be shredded to a bloody pulp instead!

Then why is Hasbro selling them in toy departments and please do point out where they say "Adult Collectible" on their box and will I need a magnifying lens to see it?

Actualy, Walmart right next to me just added Ultra Clobber and Rack and Ruin, and we saw listings for new scouts, along with new Ultras like Skullcruncher.

Windblade is drawn and written by real people. She doesn't get a voice in her design.

And until now, she's always been drawn and written as something other than this. So it's fair to question why the decision was made to force her into this design into one of several characters more well known for it.

Yup. People want to claim female characters don't sell well, then Hasbro went and created a new female character (Clobber) for Cyberverse.

Where do you see them in the toy department? I see them in barnes and noble with the other teen+ collectibles (shfiguarts, gunpla, statues etc.). The toys are the next section over.

You do realize to the masses, that's part of the toy department or are you that dense in your attempt to defend a sexist porn toy? Even then that still gives a shitty image to the teen girls who might be interested in the line.

It should be noted that the same people who get super upset and ask "What's wrong with sexy robots?" also got super pissed when the Torchbearers were revealed and their toys "didn't look female enough."

(Edit: Changed my response as I saw you clarified your comment.)
I don't care if Transformers has feminine figures, because the toyline has done a fine job of giving them just as many diverse body types as they do the male bots. You've got Strika, Strongarm, Windblade, Blackarachnia, Arcee, Clobber...lining up to stuff like Bulkhead, movie Hound, Prime, Bee, Prime Starscream, Knock Out, etc.

That's why nobody complained about Blackarachnia. Because she was introduced alongside a cast that included Airrazor. In a toyline that had female figures like Sonar, and in a universe that has female figures like I listed above.

So why, out of all of those diverse styles...was Windblade picked for this?

That's a bad argument. Being a toy does not mean it's for kids. It doesn't have to say "adult collectible" on the box to be one. If you can't tell the difference between a toy for kids and a toy for adults that's YOUR problem not everyone elses. It's the equivalent of saying all animation is for kids, even though there's is a lot of stuff for teenagers and adults.

UPDATE: The official Flame Toys FB page removed all of the prototype teasers while their official Twitter page only removed the Windblade pics.

I won’t exactly call it an “Adult Collectible” but it is targeted towards older teens and above just due to all the hazards that comes with building a model kit . 4867CAB8-60AF-4B09-AFD4-5DC3CEFC70D0.jpeg In comparison to general hastak products F670C174-4955-423C-AE61-8A1E5B6CA1CB.jpeg

I don't mean to offend, but no one raised a stink about IDW1 being incredibly violent, sexualized, and sometimes crass. At least not enough to get anything cancelled (the sales did that just fine, but that's neither here nor there). Why was that okay for the brand, but a shapely Windblade model kit destined for the anime section at Barne's and Noble is not? I feel like I'm seeing a double standard. What this looks like to me is pearl clutching over a brand that has already stepped into much murkier water and come out fine.

If you were okay with Tesarus shredding people apart while they were still alive in IDW, I'm not sure I see why this can't also exist. If you were okay with the sexualized elements of MTMTE, I don't see why you can't allow this kit. There is nothing wrong with enjoying the mature side of the hobby, and I can assure you, a Windblade with some curves is not the most outrageous thing ever done under the license.

Excuse me, but taken as a whole...what denotes Furai Models as being "for adults?" You realize kids buy model kits as well right? I spent many a weekend with my dad putting together cars, trucks, and robots as a kid.

So taking that into consideration, imagine a parent working with their kid on a these Furai kits. You've done Prime, you've done Bee, now you go to pick out another and...what the f**k is this Windblade sitting here? Oh wait...now suddenly these are for adults?

You're really not helping your case here. Nothing about the model kits specifically made them "for adults" until this specific one popped up with literal butt flaps. All you're doing is proving our point. If a kid and their parent were putting these kits together because until now they were cool robot toys...now you've got this T&A in your face and you have to decide if you're comfortable with your kid having that particular product.

It effectively shuts the female robots out from being a part of the line with the same audiences as the male figures.

I'm sorry, what "sexualized elements?" I seem to recall a lot of romantic interactions, but nothing remotely sexual about any of it.

Hell, the most intimate thing they had in IDW was the Conjunx Endura. And that was just Cybertronian marriage.
