I love it. Mostly because Ban didn't try to make it gross like the original Windblade.

Some minor revisions to Ban's original design concept, but nothing hugely significant. Like the Windblade revision, a more obvious panty-line is the big difference. Other details have just been refined more.

 

I mean, I don't think we'll get any female character without... that, but at least to me, it's not as bad as the friggin' pasty (ugh) the first Windblade had, so I'll take what I can get.

 

Ban's original Arcee drawing was much the same way. But with Windblade's design issues in hindsight, looks like they commissioned an Arcee redesign immediately.

With these two in the works, I wonder if they're angling at Blackarachnia as well? They're already broaching the Beast Wars subject, so she wouldn't be a complete oddball release.

 

I know this is just a Windblade retool but I hope this leads to more 86 characters in model kit form, like Springer and Galvatron.

 

Looking quickly, I don't see any parts that are identical.

These guys are more prolific in releasing renders than actual figures.

 

Who knows what they'll do when it comes to the actual model, but Ban's Arcee and Windblade share no details. They're just aesthetically similar.

Because the artists are obviously totally involved with the factory production end of things...

 

About time they got to doing Arcee.   She's one of the few characters that's perfect for this line. Hope they bring in Blackarachnia in sooner or later too.

He did a really cool rendition of Flamewar too that I remember seeing. Hope more of those designs get turned into kits.

Considering what Ban mostly draws, I'm not the one being weird here (also you just mentioned a 'panty line' so you're pulling a double standard there). And hey, I'm an artist too, my dude. And I'm not above drawing more risque stuff, even thought I don't care for it myself.

But it's a Hasbro-sanctioned product that's going to be out in stores. There's a time and a place for fan-service, and these model kits aren't it.

 

Oh hell yeah, now all we need is Nightbird, Arachnid and Flamewar.
