The tin packaging and exclusivity are probably bumping up the price.

 

If I could make any changes, I'd have a chest plate over the boobs bit to look a bit more like the forged to fight windblade and less boobsy. And definitely bigger wings. But Im more concerned if these kits are still being released. I love the furai kits and wb is one of my fave characters. The optimus Primal is number one on my list though. All the trigger designs are like a dream come true.

Late to the party but I've had Megatron for a while now and just got around to building him over the weekend and I must say he's pretty rad. My Prime's joints are better toleranced but overall, Megs is real smooth.

And yes I know this is the Autobot version, but I just can't get myself to add a good-guy insignia to his chest.

 

I just noticed something very weird and important. On their twitter post, it says that the Optimus Primal kit will have diecast. I noticed already that it’s furai action, so I guess it won’t have a normal version? Or perhaps, the one that isn’t built will have those diecast parts replaced with plastic? Very odd they mention that.

For sure, I’m actually kinda glad cause this looks like a figure I’d want to buy prebuilt and painted cause he looks really cool. The Optimus wasn’t terribly interesting but this looks very pretty.

 

I think they both look great. But Lio Convoy is much higher on my priority list because Primal is coming in Kingdom.

Actually they're not, Decepticon Megatron has a retooled face.

 

it’s the same face. I can pose my autobot one to make the same expression. It’s a ton of paint and panel lines and angle tricks to make it look menacing

 

But it isn't. We've seen the face sculpts side-by-side. The Decepticon sculpt is the same design in a different expression. The "eyebrows" are lower and the eyes point downward more in the center, while the cheek lines are lower and the chin strap now broadens at the bottom compared to the more rectangular first release. It's new tooling, Flame Toys has confirmed it.



The new face is quite literally the selling point of the kit.

selling point is to fool you in thinking a sticker is enough to buy it.

They literally look the same except more paint is done to the decepticon one and the con one isn’t out yet so no one and been able to prove they redid the mode sheet which I don’t think they did.

 

The only thing foolish is refusing to accept clear evidence when presented it. The face is a different piece, you cannot "make it" by posing and panel lining because it's a new, if subtle, tooling.

Again, ignoring the obviously changed expression, the mere fact that the 'Con version has the "sub-eyebrows" visible as well as a clearly differently shaped chin strap is proof enough of new tooling.

As if Flame Toys saying it had new tooling wasn't proof enough.

 

well I’m not spending $50 for a tiny face that’s not noticeable regardless. All I know is flam doctors, paints and photoshops their models ridiculously to sell them. Works though. I have 4 kits that I spent day’s gluing and painting to make them look like their promo shots. I got G1 prime at the post office right and he’s gonna be my weekend project. His only knows what I’m gonna need to do to make him look like their shots.

Now you're changing goalposts. The question was never whether you would buy it or even if it's worth re-buying for that detail, but you denied there was any changes to sculpt at all.

This is not doctoring nor Photoshop, and it's ridiculous to imply they have when again that's the entire advertised feature of the kit's re-release.
