I just checked my DVR and was surprised to see a new episode of Transformers Prime recorded. Predacons Rising part 1. Apparently they actually took the TV Movie and re-edited it into 3 separate episodes. So I guess they'll be airing part 2 next week and part 3 the week after that. Did anyone know this was happening?

yeah. It was pretty much stated to be the intent when they announced it. Also why the run time is exactly three episodes long

Why didn't they just air it that way to begin with? I didn't really consider it as an actual movie anyway. I had stated a while back when it originally aired that it should of just be a 3 part episode at the end of the series.

They should have released it as episodes first, and then compiled it into a movie and included it with the Season 3 DVD. And also called it "Chaos Rising". Basically nothing about how it was released was right.

I think at some point it WAS originally going to be the last three episodes called Chaos Rising but from what I've heard it was made into a movie and called Predacons Rising due to Hasbro wanting to promote more BH toys but I may be wrong.

Any theory involving a primary motivation by Hasbro to sell toys will always be at least 90% true

I heard this as well. It makes sense to me because of Jeffrey Combs saying he recorded 16 episodes. So it wouldn't surprise me in the least they changed their minds for the toy aspect of it.

Chaos Rising would have been a much better title than Predacons Rising. That was a very misleading title, giving us something very different than what we got. But that doesn't surprise me.

Yeah I remember what Jeffery Combs said about that. That would be the case.

Agreed but then again that's Hasbro for you. Wanting to sell toys as much as possible.

"Let's Meet Darksteel and Skylynx" might have been more appropriate.

I do remember reading something about the original 1986 movie being edited and aired as part of season 3 in the original cartoon series. Don't know what you're talking about though.
