I say that if you're going to make a "Masterpiece", then load it up with all the detail that comes with it.

It won't effect Soundwave's look much, the labelling will wind up on his back or the backs of his legs.

 

Wow, those new pics are gorgeous! I can't believe the differences between the two molds, it's like night and day.

 

my thoughts:
-The overall height is MUCH better scale wise.
-The overall proportions however are better on the older prototype
-the detailing looks great. for those of you who think he looks TOO detailed, keep in mind that once its not prototype white and instead a dark blue it will not be so obvious but rather subtle detailing you will only notice when you really look at it. something to appreciate, not something to change the overall aesthetic.
-Soundwave's legs now attache to the sides of his crotch as opposed to the bottom of his hips/waist. not sure i like that
-i figiured out the reason he looks like he as a super long torso now is because the crotch piece where his legs attach now adds to his torso length.
-it says the waist can be turned which is good...but still doesn't show any...wonder if its a last minute addition they will make. i wonder if he thinks i mean that it can be "turned" meaning changed as in made more stout by unextending the transformation? i dunno. i see no "twist" seen in those pictures which is what i meant when i asked about waist articulation.
-ALSO....why do the weapons look much better and also BIGGER with the old proto vs. the new. that one i see no advantage in the new vs. old.


I for one still will get it. I DO wish they just scaled up the older prototype and added articulation and detail instead of adding the crotch piece. that being said its still pretty awesome. i'm wondering if its just that the first proto was so good everyone (myself included) expected the 2nd one to be PERFECT, which....its not...but its still awesome in my book. i'll buy at least 2 most likely.

 

I like the smaller one better.

 

Me likes the older prototype way better (more bulky to the sides and more megaman legs). But still want it regardless...

 

His guns need to be a little bit longer.

Holy MOTHER OF GOD! This is freakin awsome! Hell it looks even better then the TT official MP's. FT when you release this , I will crown you the god of all 3rd party companys.

 

I was going to compare the two but my final call is.... I'm so happy we are getting this.

 

No date has been announced, if one had it would be difficult NOT to find, because every post in here would be like "I can't wait until June 15th" or whatever. Plus it would be frontpaged, I'm sure.

Anyway, I seem to remember we were told to expect it in the fall, but nothing more specific.

Same here. If I had a choice, I'd go with the shorter version (the gun of the shorter version looks better, too), but I'm just happy one of these versions is getting released at all. It's why I sold my Music Label Soundwave.

 

I find I like the old one better. The absurd amount of surface detail is distracting and the proprtions aren't as nice.
