Awesome job, perfect voice. KICK ASS!

But it sounds nothing like Welker. G1 Megs had a high pitched screechy voice, this Megs has a low dignified tone.

Very G1 Megs. Even though it is a brutish and raspy voice it is still intelligent. It sounds nothing like Weaving which makes me think that with all their computer effects they could have used anybody for the role. So why not just use Welker?! Anyway, it seems entertaining.

You think it's computer effects that made him sound like that? That was all Weaving.

I still don't think it sounds anything like G1 Megs. G1 sounded constantly irritated, and screechy.

Because nobody will care. I mean really. NOBODY, aside from a few geeks of this fandom, will even know who played the real megatron. Out of the countless animated movies and movies with voice actors, I can only name the people who did Transformers because I study it closely. Not many people out there do because nobody cares who voiced them .... they will just know its megs.

I saw it last night. All the voice working were good, especially Peter as Prime.
he was the only robot who get a mountain of dialogue in film.

Hugo impressed me, his voice was different and not sound like Agent Smith or V.

I think Megs is cool in fillm, I forget about his ugly design and his motion in the film is hot with Hugo's voice, I love also when he said "Disgusting"[spoiler]

People that think that sounds like G1 Megs = insane

    Sorry but it's totally different.

Also, completely different from Weaving's usual voice and so synthesized you can't tell it's him unless you just know. Why'd they push for Weaving again? This could have been any random voice actor

The performance is fine, my point is, it didn't have to be him, I don't understand why Bay lobbied for him or whatever given the sound. I guess he just wanted the acting quality?

Or... They hear things differently than you do.

I, for instance, think it draws from G1 Meg's voice without sounding exactly like it. It's the gravely quality. I always associate that with G1 Megs, although G1 Megs had a slightly higher pitch to his voice.

I had it stuck in my head that movie Megatron was going to barely eke out a sentence and be more of an non-communicative alien monster type thing since he remained unformatted.

I think If Hasbro hadn't intervened that IS what we would have gotten.

I like that better than G1 Meg's voice (and I grew up watching G1 and loving it).

I think the reason Bay pushed for Weaving wasn't so much because his voice sounded the part, hence the vocal effects, it was because Bay knew Weaving could deliver the lines convincingly. When he responds with "Oh...so unwise", it's almost as if he's glad Sam wants to do it the hard way. I just re-read the first and second issues of the prequel comics, and hearing that voice in my head, I have no doubt in my mind that Weaving was the right choice for this.
