Thank god the retro packaging ones were available on hasbro pulse and not just walmart.com . Get ready for a horrible experience if you preordered from walmart

 

Yay a friend of mine In the states preordered me the set of four!

I own all four of the original toys and love them, what I I don’t own is any sealed vintage beast wars figures so why the hell not order them. I Can’t wait to get these bad boys on to my shelves

I kinda want to wait and see if Walmart reduces the price to what was advertised... but also I kinda expect just paying the extra amount on HP will save me a lot of hassle.

 

Yes, I also wonder if the price will be adjusted to the price advertised.

In the other hand, ECTO-1 pre-order was 39.99 instead of the 49.99 advertised.

 

What exactly is the difference between this Neflix Primal & Rattrap and the retail release? Slightly more pastel color pallet?

 

I assume what happened is that they're reusing/recreating the back of Megatron's original box, text mostly included, but they swapped out the products for the ones they're actually selling right now (Cheetor & Rattrap). Which leads to a bit of a disconnect between text and product. It's not actually meant to literally mean that Cheetor and Rattrap are Megas now, it's just them paying homage to the original Megatron box.

You can see the original also separated the products by "Ultra" and "Mega":


Cheetor's packaging will likely still properly call him a DELUXE.
Rattrap was a BASIC, so even if they had downgraded "mega" to "deluxe" on this box it wouldn't have been accurate for both of them. So they just left it alone, to be more authentic to the original box.

 

Hope this does well to warrant a wave 2 since Primal and Megatron are the only original figures I still have. Preorderd Cheetor and have no interest in Rattrap.

My guess wave 2 will be Dinobot, Rhinox, and one of the Spiders. Maybe an actual mega class like Inferno since he’s not getting a new figure right now plus we never got that toy in a solid red color scheme so that would be a reason to reissue the mold.

 

Pulled the trigger on Primal. I never had any of the original toys as a kid, so got it for the historical importance (and the cool gimmicks) despite already having the MP version.

Hope these sell well so that it opens the door for other reissues (ex. Transmetals?)

I’m sure you’re right but it conveniently A) makes them the same class and B) a traditionally more expensive class for each which is awfully convenient!  

I’m buying all of them so it’s not like it bothers me. I just thought it was funny and pretty tacky too.

 

Got all four vintage figs from Pulse, only mold I have already is Cheetor (Fox Kids version). Looking forward to them, and hoping for more!

Hell, I'll sell the copies I have if it means replacing them with versions that have sturdier chrome. I had 10th Anniversary TM Rattrap for a short while, and the chrome on that felt really sturdy compared to some of my original TMs.

Got all 4 at Hasbro Pulse. My mom gave away all my old Beast Wars toys to good will without my permission. Hopefully they will releases more vintage Beast Wars toys and glad to see Beast Wars getting love.
