I'll have to see how I feel seeing them in person. They are pretty direct reissues, with little to no deco changes over the original nineties toys.

Hmm.. strange to think how straight-up largely unchanged remakes of the original BW toys is not something that's been seriously done previously. It's almost always updated in some way.

G1 will continue into Generations, hell, they didn't even weed it out with Kingdom. There's other collectors who aren't just into G1 who would like the spotlight for once. I mean no disrespect, but if we're looking at stuff they haven't really done much of, Beast Wars seems perfect

Agreed, I wasn't around in the 80's and passed on a lot of the 90's toys, so when I found the retro packages, it really felt like I was in the 80's from what I can tell, and it was a joy, so to get that with Beast Wars also is awesome

The Age of Extinction line was the last time we had spring-loaded missiles on TFs (Galvatron). Heck, in Cyberverse there are toys where missiles specifically fire out UNTIL they get to the back end, and then they stop dead in their tracks as they're connected to the toy there (the 2nd Megatron 1-step, for example, or Ultra Starscream). I don't think that detail would have been added if there wasn't some safety regulation changed in some major Hasbro market.

I'm not super-familiar with toy regulations so I suppose it's possible(?) if they were to label these as specifically adult collectibles they might be able to retain their spring-loaded firing gimmicks, but I wouldn't bet on it.

I kid, I love the packaging of these, I don't think I'll ever get rid of them.

We really need to get over straight re-issues and instead make the products "Better" - More paint being a good start.
Rattrap on the show is coppery brass coloured not Brown - they missed a chance to make the original mould in show colours here.

If they'd used the Aniversary Moulds with new packaging and better paint i'd have been all in - this is just boring.
It's kinda like the Minibot reissues - no imagination being shown with them at all either.

Non-toon (or barely in the toon) characters will always be second class citizens, regardless of the line. I wouldn't be surprised if we never see a single non-toon character in this new BW reissue line. Which makes me sad, since my most wanted reissue is Magnaboss who has been lost to GPS.

I'll definitely be getting Rattrap. My original one has a snapped gun and a very loose auto-morph after many hours of fiddling and posing years ago, so a minty replacement would be nice.

I read some psychological technobabel that nostalgia gives off a dopamine surge to most if not all humans. Whetherwe like to admit it or not.

Don't see how it's any different than the prices of the G1 reissues.

It's a reissue of a 25 year old toy, at this point after retrieving, repairing, or remaking the old molds it probably costs them the same to reproduce the figures whether they were Basic or Deluxe.

Neat but... yeah. I don't think I'll be getting any of these because, well, Kingdom. And the S1 toys weren't necessarily the best... the only one I would've considered getting over the Kingdom version is Primal but alas that's the only one I've bought. Though in some ways I do like basic Rattrap more than the Kingdom version... but the price wonkiness makes it really unappealing to me. I know reissue markup is a thing and honestly $20 is pretty reasonable (especially for Cheetor) but mentally I can't square the circle that Rattrap is relatively overpriced.

But bring me some Transmetals and then we're talking.

I know a lot of collectors would want the original Beast Wars Scorponok mold to be reissued considering how rare it's become.
