Probably had to be reverse engineered like they did... I think it was G1 Soundwave.
Finally, they're starting to reissue the good toys!
Cheetor and Rattrap yes, but Primal and Megs are only about $9 more than their original MSRP adjusted for inflation.
Which compared to other markups is pretty damn negligible, plus there's the fact that these are older toys and moulds. However it just occurred to me these moulds were just used not too many years ago. (Primal was even more recent in the Legends line)
As long as they're stored properly and away from the elements, typically yeah. It's the constant heating and cooling that comes from injection moulding that can, over extended use, cause warping and degradation. The original Dinobot mould and the Classics Seeker mould are two good examples of moulds that were used excessively, and definitely in the Classics Seeker's case the wear started to show around RTS Thrust IIRC.
Yeah, the mould was definitely supposed to be lost, so they would have had to.
I feel joy of these reissues.
It’s weird that Primal and Megatron are redecoed, but not to the extent of the 10th Anniversary versions. Honestly given that Kingdom is giving us more accurate(ish) versions of those characters, I wish they’d gone full toy colors like they are with Cheetor. Since this is his first reissue ever, I may pick up Rattrap.
To me it isn’t, IMO these figures have aged well with Primal being far ahead of its time and Megatron being far more solid and sturdy compared to the recent Kingdom leader. I like Cheetor a lot and am happy new fans will get to experience it and older fans who missed out can grab it. Never had the original Rattrap so I might get this version.
Possibly me since I passed on it 20 years ago. Not sure yet though. I like the old Beast Wars toys.
Was really hoping for transmetals personally but this isnt bad. Bebating on getting Rattrap, always wanted him but there is the Kingdom one which looks very nice. Love that they brought back the old packaging!
I'm glad I decided to wait on Kingdom Primal because this one will go much better with my Big Convoy. Now I just need a Lio Convoy.
Man I hope they get to Dinobot. I just restored my childhood one and it would be awesome to have one in packaging.
what the hell
Aw man, had really, REALLY hoped it would be Transmetals.
Just would love to have a working TM Megatron again...
I mean, reissuing these is still pretty cool. They're all ones I had as a kid though and are in my parents basement still lol, so I don't really need any... But still cool I guess. Just got a bit too excited by the rumors I guess.
i have all the originals on the shelf. No need to redecos, boxes or not.
Only BW toy I have in a box still is Cybershark!
Instead of re-releasing all these vintage ones why don't they focus on actually making enough to distribute the new ones in a manner that makes sense.
nice, I love when non-G1 stuff get reissues. And the prices don't seem too bad, I definitely wouldn't have been surprised if Primal and Megs were $50.
Sure hope there are more reissues to come, especially some Transmetals!
...they did G1 reissues when WfC is a thing.
$40 for the two leaders is impressive. I think I spent that much on a complete (no box) Primal a few years back but that was before the boom.
Will be interesting to see what the secondary market does. But congrats to those who never had a chance at these the first.time around.
MAN. am I happy to be wrong!! I was dead set on the idea that these would just be g1 colored variants of kingdom figures, this is super cool!! some non g1 classic reissues hell yea.
I already have the original Cheetor and Primal, I'll get Megatron and Rattrap....if Walmart actually stocks them.
Very pleased to see HasTak pushing Beast Wars so hard in nearly every way possible.
I'll buy all of these... on eBay... after Walmart cancels my preorder and then offers them at double retail on their own website, while only selling them at physical B&M retail in ten metro areas across the entire North American continent.
