Nice to see they're really giving the Beast Wars nostalgia it's due. These are cute for the side-by-side, but don't do it for me.

Tigerhawk straight up needs a new mold i think without the gimmicls(i cant believe i said that).in hindsight, i think he would have been a GREAT addition to thrilling 30.

This is awesome! I still have my 10th Anniversary reissues and an original Rattrap so I'll be passing, but that vintage packaging is so great. It's so nice seeing Beast Wars getting so much love this year.

That's the running change. The reissue is the Rocky Bubble, which is much rarer. Looks to be a much closer match.

Nice, but not really for me.  Have the originals and I am happy with them.

Very cool for those, like me, who never owned any, but I’m content with Kingdom’s BW. Is Primal’s chest really hollow like that?
I wish someone would do this with DC Super Powers

Yes, I was just kidding. They'd be far better than Machinima or Rooster Teeth at bringing Beast Wars back for Season 4, when the Maximals have gone back to the future and Megatron drops into the time stream...

    Kenner???

I think I\'ll pass, I  have the TRU 10th Anniversary 2-pack primal and Megatron  but I might get Cheetor because my original toy is missing his gun

Poor Megatron, like they took most of the color off his chest

I never had a classic Rattrap, only the transmetal so might skip Kingdom Rattrap and try to get my hands on this to put him alongside his \'90 peers.

Since we're getting these things redecoed, I really hope that if we get them that the Transmetals have metallic paint rather than the chrome so it will hold up better and last longer, despite my love for chrome. At least it would be more show accurate where they were shiny, but not super reflective.

I mean this in no offense, purely curiosity, but why? You're a massive BW fan and/or collector, that I understand. What I don't understand is why you're paying Hasbro's significant price bump for a figure you already likely own at least one or two of the mold, when a new version half the price of the reissue is right there. I know you really don't like Core Rattrap, that's fine, but the engineering between these two on the shelves is night and day. Primal and Megatron? Those molds seem to have held up well, as a non BW guy I think they look fun, even if I still prefer the Kingdom ones ever so slightly. What gets accomplished by getting Reissue Rattrap? Is it a plea to Hasbro for more BW reissues? Is it a way to spite Kingdom Core Rattrap? I'm genuinely baffled about your thought process on this one. I @'d you somewhat jokingly, really hoping your answer wouldn't be an instabuy, but now I'm just a bit disappointed and primarily confused.

Honestly, they're different but not necessarily better than one over the other. BW Rattrap is bigger, you can move his shoulders without unhinging and he has actual weapon storage. Kingdom Rattrap has slightly better proportions in robot mode, ankle tilts and less shell but arguably makes a less better rat and has a tad finnicky transformation that's not quite as fun as the one-step snap transformation. It really is a YMMV situation from one fan to another.

Hasbro bought Kenner at some point right before BW started, so they drew all the packaging art and stuff. They probably also were responsible for the heightened articulation, but I need to research that more.

Dunno if it's true, but I had heard back in the day that at least the first wave of BW figures were designed by Kenner's team. It would explain some of the more unusual transformations.

I don't think the figure ever had any color on his chest, if memory serves.
