Like the title said, the line is called Unitroborn, and it seems to be part of Machine Robo universe. The concept is a combination of two random things, with the bigger one priced at 2,255 yen, and the smaller one at 1,155 yen! So far we have: Car + Pine tree = Trex Lobster + Apple = A Go-buster like robot Beetle + Train = Whatever the fuck that is Plane + Eraser (why tho) = Wolf Shark + Vending Machine = Shark Robo Burger + Bulldozer = Another Robo Sadly, doesn't seem to be a mix and match, which is kind of shame, and also limited in articulation.
Oh My, please just delete this thread. I would take the old school McDonalds Happy Meal Transformers toys over these things.
It's a fun idea, but I don't like those equalizer stickers that all the figures have. It makes sense that music is the unifying theme of this brand, but they just remind me of those knockoff toys with really basic, boring stickers that make the toy look worse than having no stickers at all.
yeah, the half/half turning into something is a neat idea... but the execution is terrible. Bandai (red) seems to have this idea these days that "the dumber something looks, the more kids will like it"... which I don't know, I honestly don't think is true... even as a kid, I would've much rather had a more "orthodox cool" aesthetic/choice of combinations for these. Either "vehicle + insect" or "vehicle + dinosaur" or just "land vehicle + air vehicle". I don't think that would be boring either, it hasn't been done in a while, could've been a solid win for Bandai. As an aside, I think most of the Botbots are really stupid also... especially the ones that turn into food. Beast Wars opening the door for "organic" transforming robots was one thing, but food turning into robots I just think is too stupid.
I don’t understand how these got made or why they think there’s a market. Im not gonna say that I wouldn’t buy something from this line if I saw it on a shelf, but I’m an idiot. It’s seemingly a line that lacks any general appeal. Even dollar tree toy lines try harder.
I really don't understand why people can't see the appeal of little animals and things that combine into fun-looking robots, as if adults buying toy robots that turn into cars and things was a social norm.
This is just zany enough to be attractive to me. I favor some designs over others though; I don't think I can get on board with the burger/dozer or plane/eraser. At least the apple/lobster is two foods, but I'm not sure about its robot mode.
this is bonkers in a good way their names seem to be just the two things mashed together, like TaxiTree and SharkVendingMachine
I get what Shin meant because the “creature” mode…or the aesthetics do give off a Bakugan vibe and er, my kids played and collected the latest series…but the rules are too complicated for me…lol
I suppose it does have a Bakugan-esque aesthetic, but it's far from "bakugan but bigger". As far as my personal experience, I collected the original series as a kid. Rules were too complicated back then too.
By the time the original series came out I was far too er, old. But from what I observe, it’s a fun game but tbh my kids have sort of lost interest in the past few months.
