Yes, agreed. I think that's the motivation for LOTS of fans. It doesn't really explain the massive success of the films though. Critics and online messageboard heroes deride the films sure, but there's an awful lot of people out there who keep going to them simply because they're fun.
I'm just talking about me baby, just me! (although my points 1-3, probably account for a lot of the box office!)
IDK I've been wondering the exact same thing. Me and Scorpio keep trying to convince you of our arguments, but you refuse to accept basic tenets of logic yourself.
@TheSoundwave At this point its probably best just to let others have their opinions regardless of our thoughts or evidence on the topic at this point. You've tried convincing them with evidence to support your opinion and if that doesn't work and they are not willing to discuss it, then its probably best to leave it at that. Continuing to try to convince them will just end up in your or them becoming more agitated - which isn't beneficial for anyone. If they say something rude or offensive to you then use the ignore list and/or report them - if they just insult you they are probably not worth talking to anyway. Their are some willing to debate topics on here. I know TonyFormer and RedGoblin have some debates on the film with me and often its enjoyable chatting about the film. However to avoid arguments its probably best just voicing your opinion on a topic then leaving it. If people respond and your up to it then chat and discuss the film - its what the forums are here for after all, discussion. Not directing this towards anyone in particular - just that if people are going to dismiss your thoughts or evidence to support your opinion without presenting their own as a counter point, then their is no way to adequately have a conversation with them about that topic and its best just ignoring them and finding a different thread. Continuing a conversation with them will just draw out the thread and end up with heated words.
Because they have to worry about the impact on customer sales whereas the military...doesn't. Their contractors might but if anything, portraying military vehicles as the Bad Guys, showcases their strength, armor, and offensive capabilities which ARE their selling points. -SS (and most car buyers want to drive one of the Good Guys.)
Continuing the conversation is probably unwise at this point - its not benefiting anyone and its turning this thread into as you put it 'Arguing and yelling and insults and such'
You are missing the entire plotline of the movie. The whole point was that these Decepticons had been in HIDING. It only makes sense to choose altmodes of military vehicles where they are already armed. Maybe ease up on indignant fury and use a little common sense.
