This is an article I found on Entertainment Weekly. It just talks about the cars. It is still a pretty good read. 'Transformers: Age of Extinction': Michael Bay's car fetish | Inside Movies | EW.com
Really nice article! Love how companies are begging to have their car in the movies! Some typical mistakes here and there, all forgivable
I can understand car companies not wanting their vehicles as bad guys, but look at Barricade, Sideways, Soundwave and of course Stinger. Damn did their vehicle/bot modes look great! So they should really understand that for fans, evil cars are just as awesome as hero cars, and for perhaps some of the non-fan audience.
Yeah, if I was a rich bastard and I watched a movie where a Lamborghini Aventador ate a VW Beetle, I would buy that car in a heart beat!
"Meanwhile, Daimler Trucks North America supplied a 2014 Freightliner Argosyfor one of the villains (rumored to be Nemesis Prime)." a little late to try and hide who that is........
You mean how a Saleen (Barricade) killed Mercedies (Que) or how Camara (Bee) killed Mercedies (Soundwave) or any number of others? No it don't look bad. It's all business lol.
Glad that car companies finally see what these films can do to their profits and are letting Bay and company use various types of vehicles for the characters.
and lets not forget the mack truck that was killing every other vehicle in sight, taking names and faces.
I agree as well, though, it was funny when he lost his cool during the filming of ROTF and flipped out on those soldier extras.
That was pretty funny, but you can't help but feel bad for the extras. Everyone losses their cool at one point or another
It's rather a shame the article writer didn't know anything about Transformers. No, Optimus's 1980s toy form was based on a Freightliner. Laser Optimus Prime from G2 (in the 1990s) was a Western Star. Pretty sure I read an old article where Bay said that Freightliner wanted nothing to do with the 2007 film, and that the crew had to get the trucks themselves. Western Star was much more accommodating. I guess maybe Freightliner has come around too.
What the fuck is the point of a bad ass sports car if it's not a Decepticon? (my apologies for thy fowl language)
