    As Deadline has posted

It is its own thing. kinda like spiderverse.

(btw can a mod put this in bold because it would save a lot of posts asking about it)

I'm hoping that "original story" means that it takes place so far in the past that it doesn't directly tie into the events of Bumblebee. But that nothing contradicts the new continuity established by Bumblebee. I hope "animated" means CGI intended to look real, like the opening scenes of Bumblebee.

I’m interested in this mostly for the fact that they’re bringing on some top tier, Oscar Winning talent with Josh Cooley and the writers of Ant Man, which I really enjoyed.

Hope they keep this ball rolling by bringing on an A-list animation studio. Very excited to see what they do with this.

I'm honestly wondering what sort of animation they're going to use

Most of the time I'd completely agree. The aspect is overdone, and I don't tend to like prequels. But in this case I'm completely onboard. Most of the time a Cybertron origin is limited to brief flashbacks or maybe a single episode of a cartoon. Or something like the new Netflix show or comics, where the production value/medium just can't do the subject justice. A big-budget Hollywood movie (even an animated one) can take this setting a lot farther. We can get the gorgeous animation and landscapes that we haven't seen since the Cybertron games almost a decade ago. I don't expect something as photorealistic as Bumblebee's opening scene, but even something as good-looking as Wonder Park (Paramount's last animated movie) would be mind-blowing. I don't ever need another comic about the Cybertron origins, but I do want this movie.

I think by my definitely incorrect calculations, this is the 44th Transformers film in the works. All prequels to undefined sources.

Aren’t we going to see pretty much this in that Netflix series? Not that a new movie isn’t exciting, but it’s weird that it isn’t connected to any existing universe. I feel like it would have made more sense for it to be a Knightverse movie

Another"before the war" story that has nothing to do with all the other looks before the war we've had in the last 10 years.

I hope it connects to the critically acclaimed Bumblebee movie that Travis Knight directed

I'm holding out hope that it will be connected to the Knightverse. Recently there was a Star Wars article that said a future show will be set in an alternate timeline. It seemed to be a misquote. And I think that happened a couple other times recently. A lot of these sites seem to get timeline stuff wrong. Not everyone thinks in terms of timelines, so it could just be someone misunderstanding the setting or time period.

If we seriously got an Animated TF film on par with Spiderverse I'd be one happy camper.

No connection to Bumblebee means G1 redesign which will suck
