Wow, this is big news. And Deadline is an accurate source. This thread would be more appropriate in the News and Rumors forum.

And this is directed by Cooley who has written Inside Out. Damn, that's honestly impressive that Paramount was able to nab him for a Transformers film.

If Hollywood Reporter posts it, it means its true. Straight up. (I work in the industry).

Things may fall through, or plans may change. But at the moment, this is true.

I'm freaking out. I adore Toy Story 4.

As a side note: you will see more big-budget animated movies in the near future. Hollywood will take years to get back to the scale of live-action production it was at pre-Covid19. Animated projects are far easier to work on in a socially-distant industry.

 

I believe he was a writer fo inside out, but he did also write and direct Toy Story 4, which I thought was really great. According to variety they’ve had the writers of The Ant-Man films writing this since the writers room was assembled

Seperate from the Bay movies you say?

I'm definitely interested. Toy Story 4 wasn't great but hey, give the guy a shot I guess. I liked Inside Out.

Haven't they pretty much abandoned the Bay movies?

 

- Directed by a good director who has a history of directing and writing good films
- A good writer is on board
- It's probably not linked to the Bayverse
- It's an animated film on Cybertron (aka no humans)

It almost seems too good to be true. Please be good.

 

It would seem that they're in the process of doing so, hopefully. The Bumblebee movie originally had a lot more to do with the previous continuity but then they made the smart decision and distance their movie from the previous series, though there are still some allusions to the previous series still in there.

Hopefully they keep at it.

 

This has been independently confirmed by Deadline and Hollywood Reporter. Deadline specifically says it will focus on the relationship between Optimus and Megatron.

 

This is basically my mindset at the moment.  

 

Yup I always wanted to see that on film. I hope the reaction is good from movie critics
