I remember that was a common problem with Bumblebee, the shoulder ball joint sockets would crumble.
I just set up my Animated display a couple of months ago, and just like when they were new and on display, I’m using Hydrodive Bumblebee as my Bumblebee.
And just like when they were new, they are still awesome figures! None of them have aged poorly, and still look like they could be on shelves today.

I’ve said it before but if they actually made Toys of these designs I would easily buy.

Received these all today in one mail sitting. Going to hibernate to assign proper attention to each of them.

I wish I had your same optimism, friend. I get that today's designers deal with more limitations. But Animated to me feels out of time; something you cannot just saunter into retail stores anymore and recapture its spirit. This series' toyline was by no means perfect, suffering from some inconsistent paint apps or some design choices that didn't feel complete (Blurr and Rodimus Minor vehicle modes anyone?). But it got away with it because of how much fun, goodwill and individuality it strove for. Technology and talent has improved in modern times but the creativity feels deteriorated. We got decent media in the form of the recent Cyberverse and were left without any toy that could adequately capture its grandeur.

I've grown to accept we're not getting Animated rehashes or tributes any time soon. But it would be nice if Hasbro could practice what Animated preached. Feels like the last thing that genuinely wowed me was their creativity in prioritizing BB movie bot mode designs and then formulating completely original alt modes in service of the characters.

Slapping more dollars into design and engineering would be a start, but certainly not the be-all-end-all solution to overcoming homogenization and repetition. Look no further than the Premium Finish repaint line for a situation where more budget fails to improve the figures

First figure test drive. Arcee really sticks the landing. The peekaboo altmode was less of a bother than I thought it would be. Looked up the proper way to insert the swords and still got stress marks, so I opted for TFP Knockout's staff. A prod seems fitting for a teacher, probably needed to zap a few protoforms for discipline >XD

It's likely been pointed out by now, but I barely just noticed that the early sample shows her wings were meant for a more low slung position. Overall I do prefer the final one we got

Just purchased Animated Lugnut and the Dinobots! Super excited for them to come in, now I only need a few other show characters and the various repaints to complete the collection!

Been rewatching the series and of course wanting to have the toys again. When they came out I had nearly all of them, eventually sold off one by one, and of course now regretting it. They were so unique. I held onto a few, but im picking up the ones i got rid of again and really enjoying them. Thanks again Derrick.

This was my shelf around 2009 before the last few waves came out.

Man that’s cool! I had a couple growing up but always loved the show. Over a divorce and a couple moves most were lost. But a couple survived and were repaired and this year I bought almost the whole toy line. From what I want I’m just missing Bumblebee, Ultra Magnus, normal Prowl, Leader Megatron and skywarp.

Animated is one of the lines that I don't sell. The toys are just so good. There are a few grail pieces that I hope to track down one day.

Really great pics. I feel like this depiction stuck the landing for both the toy and the actual character (no direct nod back to his G1 sin and instead focusing on his potential as a great leader)

This diagram perfectly sells how neatly engineered and compacted Rodimus was. Alexander Kubalsky's choreographed transformations still remain some of the best in this franchise to this day

Head sculpt is straight out of Prime. He's appealing, I love those real-world alt modes, but I don't see anything for an Animated purist to get excited about here.

I don't like it. A big aspect of Bulkhead's (and any character's) design is the proportions and they got that completely wrong. Looks more like they stuck a Bulkhead head on a totally different figure. It's the same reason I don't like the legacy one (well there's other reasons as well). The concept art for legacy bulkhead had a much more squat appearance and I think would have looked a lot better than what we are getting.
