Sounds very interesting! So, this will take place within the same continuity as the Infiltration/Escalation/Devastation storyline. Is this supposed to be a "what if" type of scenario set in an alternate universe or will this be normal canon? Either way, I'm very much looking forward to this.

 

I believe it's normal canon. Seems to run parallel to what's going on the with Revelations and the Spotlights.

 

The press release tiptoes around giving spoilers, but if you read Devastation #5 - #6, Spotlight Optimus Prime, and Spotlight Arcee, you'll get the full story behind how the Autobots are not on Earth.

 

I think it says a lot about the threats the Autobots are facing intergalactically that Earth just didn't rate high enough and they had to pull stakes and book. It's chilling, I feel abandoned.  

 

Tell me about it when Prime says "we'll have to fend for ourselves" that was crushing!It was like your dad saying your a complete failure that's why I'm leaving you and Your mother!

WARNING! Continuity Clusterfuck Approaching!


The project was apparently developed as an alternate universe story. In a way it's similar to Megatron Origin in that the story wasn't written for the main Infiltration-Escalation-Devastation continuity, but slightly reworked so it could be shoved into continuity.

 

It takes place a year after so I really don't think it will be that much of a ClusterFuck!

I'm with you. This looks like it was shoved into continuity just for the sake of making it canonical. I suppose if it was reworked the right way it could be good, but there are still some Autobots on Earth as a few were left behind. I mean, anyone who's been reading Devastation and the last couple of Spotlights knows why Prime and company aren't on Earth so that's not such a big deal -though it did seem like Furman had to change his storyline at the last minute-. I just hope they don't ignore the fact that Hot Rod, Sunstreaker/Hunter & Grimlock and the Dinobots -I think that's all the Autobots still there- had stayed behind. Otherwise, it truly will be a cluster fuck...

 

They decided to scan new alt modes?

 

Supposedly, according to the writer, that question will be answered in time within the series.

And he's already thought about the whys, from the sounds of it.

Even IF it started out as a separate story, at a 12-issue length it'll be VERY easy to revise to fit into main continuity.

 

"Yes, let's assume vehicle modes with inferior capabilities to ones we used previously for no apparent reason whatsoever."
