*sigh* still patiently holding out for the yellow or EX, or other deco with nicer/better paint apps.
No way, absolutely not, I want everything now.
(Not even gonna put that in blue, 'cause it's not exactly untrue...)
It's not that those figures are bad, they are good, but New Age threated us with much higher quality figures; the hollow legs, messy feet and the complete lack of paint it's not up to their standards, especially for the very high price they are asking for this set.
My guess is that they rushed those figures out just to beat MS on who will release a Devastator first, since they got completely beat up with their Menasor (and in fact the NA stunticons have completely disappeared, not a single update on them in a long while).
This war between those two companies is stupid, especially if, as I think, ends up hurting the quality of the figures.
So upon this picture that means the torso and the arms and waist will not be coming with the 3rd team ? or is this an upgrade set to make it look different? I only just bought the 2 sets and waiting for the 3rd to come so still new into this.
The combiner pieces consisting of Devastator’s head, torso, thighs, forearms as well weapons and accessories is a separate set D pack. You will need to order this fourth box to complete your NewAge Hephaestus.
Other than the fact that the MS Menasor made it to market first, I don’t see how NA “got completely beat up”. I mean, how can you judge the NA version when it isn’t even out yet?
Furthermore, competition between competing companies usually pushes quality upwards, not downwards - it’s like an arms race. It encourages all the companies involved to up their game, to innovate, to be the best.
If any of the competitors suddenly gets a reputation for poor-quality or slapdash products, people will flock to their rivals. It’s no surprise that NewAge have been very quick to come up with a fix for the messy legs, because - in this particular arms race - to not do so would have been suicidal.
Healthy competition generally results in better product. It’s when a company has a monopoly that there’s far less incentive to improve or innovate.
The hollow parts are disappointing but the lack of paint doesn’t bother me. Yes it doesn’t have a nice glossy finish that figure have been receiving lately but when you put it along side some of their earlier stuff like Jazz, Datsun bots and Van bots they are on par with them. The construction were always green blobs with some purple and grey.
Thanks for the response ok got it. Will order when available
You misundestood me, I mean beat up in release schedule, as in MS managed to release the whole combiner before even NA started with the first figures. I have no doubht a NA Menasor would be as good if not better than MS, given they normally have higher quality figures
I’ll probably get C and D in at this point before my set A arrives. Glad they are ready.
At what point is a package officially considered lost? It’s been 30 buisiness days with no movement for my set A after clearing customs. ShowZ keeps telling me it’s just a delay but I’ve never had this issue with ShowZ.
At this point I would demand for a new shipment.
Wow, that’s great! Thanks for the info. I will pass it on. Will hold off and pick up the EX version with Terry.
Compared to pretty much everywhere else, that's a friggin' steal! Was gonna wait for EX colors, but I'm gonna go for this for now. Prob do a double dip when toy ver. are released.
Yeah, that's a good price. 35$ or so per piece if you count the torso as a 7th.
Folks, keep in mind the other color and sculpt variations will most likely be smaller production runs and have a higher price point attached to them.
I hope we get Chinese reviews of sets C & D soon.
Can't wait to see "Sun of Empire" and "Color.R Touch-Toys" on YT do their reviews of the full combiner!
It seems to be a fairly consistent issue. It's a very tight little pin and short, so it comes out very easily when applying the correct force to slide it. Not a great design. Since I don't plan to transform him again (that's one reason why I have two sets) it's not a big deal, but if you like to transform them, it's a pretty significant issue unless you can find a better pin to replace it with.
Given that MS has been teasing their Stunticons since before Newage existed it seemed totally unsurprising to me that theirs was finished first; I always took the Newage announcement as an "oh by the way we have this in the works, and we intend for it to Scramble City with our other Scramble City gestalts, which are also in the works."
That's not a disagreement with what you just said, of course.
