NA dis anounce their Stunticons(s) first, although only MagicSquare has released some so far.

It's weird, for the first time NA is too accurate to the cartoon model, and MagicSquare is the one to add extra detail and better proportions.

What kind of weird mirror world have I stepped into.

as i've mentioned before, i have no interest in matching "toon" or "toy" proportions at all. i get the nostalgia and all for some of you, but to me the drawings for the most part aren't very good aesthetically. so personally i have not attachment for them being toon/toy accurate and would rather the original creatives serve as inspiration as opposed to gospel, and have the designs be improved on.

Nah, MST announced their Stunticons several years ago. It just took them this long to get two, and soon a third, out.

If only more people thought that way, maybe MP wouldn't have gone down the dark path the way it had.

In response to the comment I quoted, I meant they revealed their Stunticons before their Constructicons, not that they were the first to reveal

I love the cartoony look of Newage's Devastator, but I'm personally sad they didn't attempt an all-in-one figure like DX9 Hulkie. I'm curious to see if the combiner part transforms or does anything meaningful.

I've always thought the best solution to combiner extra parts was just make the teams bigger, include a pair of smaller bots that turn into a generator, or other small construction machinery, and for the waist, give long haul a buddy to help him hold the weight of the combiner, maybe a steamroller or a smaller front loader.

...so i thought new age were the original war-in-pocket design crew spun off into their own business endeavor, which would make this their second devastator, after hulkie...

    ...am i mistaken?..

I'm usually more of a MST guy, but I have to say that Newage Devy's as close to perfect as possible

The only problem with the legs is the size of the constructicons- I edited them to match the show, but obviously that'd result in a freakishly huge Scrapper/Mixmaster

..If MFT ever had a crack at this, you might be able to mix-and-match....

Considering the pants or a seperate piece I wouldn't be surprised if someone tried to 3d print a new pair to mix and match between NA and MS

I think this would be the best choice as well. Just widen it a little bit down below. Especially with the Mixmaster drum.

what you did does make it look better. but not only are they freakishly too big now, it would place the knee bend way too high up on the leg. :p

and i think you OS mixmaster significantly more than scrapper so the knees don't even line up! :lol

Tbh I wouldn't worry about the knees much
if this is like the other devastators we've had, the ankle articulation's gonna suck anyway, so knee placement won't matter that much (but I'd be very happy to be proved wrong)

As far as I'm aware the only devastator with decent ankles was the Maketoys one.

Ah, if only it where possible to get and undersized version of that.

It's unbelievable how Magic Square and New Age go at it. These companies are totally at war with each other.

Just realised another thing that bothers me, and than the overly slender proportions, is that the head feels more like a bald man wearing Raybans than a badass robot warrior.. something about the silver on the forehead and the general face layout. MS feels ... less bald man, somehow, even though the differences are small. But a bald man with skinny legs isn’t adding up to the best iteration.

my oversized Hulkie definitely has some posing issues (though at least he never randomly separated like regular hulkie) so he always needs something to sort of prop him up like a building
