You're right, this is looking a bit too plain. And having trouble looking past that skinny mixer barrel. =P

 

It looks to me like it's a torso with a head, arms, waist, and thighs. And you just attach the constructicons to that. It's really turning me off from this one. Same thing that turns me off from most of the Menasors out now.

 

Yeah, it's a practice that is unfortunately becoming more prevalent.

 

I think your right. The abdomen and chest in this Devy is looking a lot like the ones with Zeta combiners.

 

Worse that that, it looks like it's doing a Menasor by having the arms attached to the torso as well.

 

Yeah, that's disappointing. More and more "MP" tricks are being deployed, and not all of them are being appreciated. I get the upper legs and forearms. The rest is just getting lazy.

Not over the mountain for combined mode unless they add more finishing touches. Loving the individual modes though. MS combined, NA individual for me.

 

great looking bots and on par for what i was expecting. whoever picks this set up should be very happy.

but they just look too NA for my taste. some seriously hollow parts and gaps going on with those legs.

 

Given how well using extra parts for the thighs and chest has worked for MP scaled figures, if it brings benefits to stability, visual accuracy, or posability for Legends too, that's cool. Let's make the combined mode as good as it can be. The individual bots already look pretty great, so if they realized they could make great bots and alt modes and then use extra parts to make the combined mode good as well, that's a smart way to do it imho.

Yeah, fake parts are the best! Too many combiner failures out there, just make all the modes as good as they can be!

This looks like a confirmation that there will be 4 sets: 3 sets for the individual bots, and 1 for the combiner part.
All of them looks ok imo, excepting those hollow feet. I think NA might plan to improve those bots, but because of the rush to release them before MS make them act fast and release their original version.

 

Transformation joints are bad too, they should just sell poseable robots and separate vehicle modes too.

 

This is probably the most blatant partsforming piece I have every seen. It is almost 1-2 steps away from a full non-combining robot.

Totally, if we’re gonna make combiners appealing AND stable we might as well just burn it all down and buy hotwheels. This guy gets it!

Although I do think it’s a bit much with this, I was thinking it would just be pants, but it’s like the whole body.

 

I'm saying this is the worst I've seen. Worst than TW/Zeta's PANTS-forming.

I don't consider Menasor's skeleton partsforming as that transforms into a trailer, even though the limb bots serve more as armour rather than limbs, like a chest minion.
