For me the wait seems to be FOREVER because I am always waiting for a NEW character rather than MORE repaints. It’s getting me anxious because I feel like all these repaints are slowing NA down and people end up going to MST because they want something NEW.

 

I originally wanted MS for devastator and these guys for bot mode... not feeling the price point or the double dip anymore.

Looked at their breakdown again and realized the front of the car is the legs.... turned off by that now too. Combiners might be MS and I just sacrifice not having both on display at all times.

 

What do you mean, “realized the front of the car is the legs” ?

 

The hood of the car splits and forms the back of the robot lower legs; back of the car (w/spoiler) goes on the back of the robot. Don't see it as a problem myself.

Magic Square better get their Devastator released before I end up buying 3 copies of the Newage version. I'm not made out of money. I've been buying the toon and toy versions of everything. I don't know if I could pass up the orange or yellow versions either.

 

From what I can gather from this Facebook post, it’s the same designer as DX9 Hulkie. With that previous figure, the aim was to make it as ‘all in one’ as possible, but here the focus is more on stability and rigidity.

Also confirmation that the combiner kibble doesn’t transform (“it should not be deformed”).

 

This will probably be the one I get unless they do the diaclone version.

My only complaint is I wish it had more paint apps. If this is the final then I may wait to see if there’s an ex version that’s not toy deco.

 

i dont know if he is talking about hulkie, gabriel or menasor. it could be anything with him i know he was a big part of the DX9 design squad.

 

I reckon he means Hulkie as he mentions it needing hardly any accessories to transform. Cool to see him approach the same character twice with completely different designing goals.

 

Ahhhhh… I understand now. He was talking about “Breakdown” not saying breakdown of Devastator. Lol.

your guess is as good as mine, or anyone else at the moment. but yeah, it seems uncharacteristic of NA to leave their figures this bare looking. i'm really hoping we see a more detailed version, but the fact that they've shown what looks to be final marketing shots of the first two pairs doesn't give much hope there will be a change.

if that's the case then my next hope is that they announce other decos that has more paint apps to choose from prior to any release so i can skip the initial release and go for a better version i'd prefer more. again this is their norm, but them releasing a combiner is unprecedented, so who knows what to expect.  

 

NA always seems to get around to doing repaints eventually so you might as well hold up for a color scheme you like unless you have to have Devastator right away even if in it's a deco you dont like.

 

It’s actually kind of a big deal in legends land that NA is active on fb now, we finally have a direct communication to the designer and don’t have to rely as much on crappy translations.

It makes me like NA even more.
