Well, there you go— NA has obviously given the Diaclone decos some attention. I actually own two of those and had just forgotten about them. I suppose there’s adequate precedent for Diaclone Constructicons, then!

The Diaclone colors always bothered me because they were uneven. They should've flipped Long Haul and Scrapper's colors or made Mixmaster and Scrapper match.

 

I think I've seen one where they're red-orange and orange-red instead of yellow/orange. Probably one of the dozens of KOs.

 

Yes. For nearly every release. If the character did not have unique colors such as Delta Magnus, black Ironhide or blue Bluestreak, then an EX release in most cases fits the bill.

It’s an inevitable release. I just wish they’d announce it already.

 

If they do, I hope they base it on the EX set. I was tempted to buy the yellow one, but they used the toon Devastator head, which looks wrong to me. Should have been the toy EX head.

 

I'm waiting on the Marvel version, metallic greens, purple and blue ftw.

Received the EX set today, and damn, it pushes so many nostalgia buttons. I feel like a 10-year old.

 

Does anyone have a side by side comparison of NA EX vs. MS? Everytime I see an NA / MS comparison, it is NA's first release, and I think MS looks way better. But when I see NA EX, I think it is possible that they caught up with it in terms of looks (in my eyes anyway) but am not sure. Can anyone show both together in combined mode?

I can do a side by side picture, when I'm back from work. Unless someone beats me to it  .
Both are very good. NA wins with the deco, but MS has the better look overall in my opinion.
Also I like MS alt modes better. Individual robot modes are equally good, in terms of look, but NA wins, once again, with the decos and materials.
I only collect NA stuff, considering legends scale, so the MS devy is my only MS figure. I just couldn't pass this one.

I took a couple of pictures for You. NA is currently combined without Longhaul, as I'm doing some modding on his wheels. Anyway I like the combined mode better without him, to be honest.

Just broke down and ordered the EX version. I’m such a sucker for the toy tampos…

 

I’m « limiting » myself to toon and SG for Newage, but the appeal of those toon versions is brutal, and resisting it is a pain.
