Thanks for that. Guess I need to get my hands on one somehow just so I have the option.

I should've asked in this thread first! I'm considering grabbing the H34EX version, but have only seen comparisons between their first version, and Magic Square's Devy ... the MS looks way better. How does the h34ex look compared to ms's offering?

Bahhh ... I'm weak. I pulled the trigger on the ex and the g2 color ones. Can't wait! I decided to go Newage over Magic Square bc the EX looks a lot better to me than the 1st version, (as does the g2 version) AND it sounds like the transformation is much more simple (my kind of transformers!)

The EX looks great, aside from the weird leg on Hook. The individual bots are a hell of a lot of fun and have just enough complexity to be fun, but not enough to make it difficult. A perfect balance, in my opinion. And the combined form is lots of fun to play around with. I'm not a fan of combiners that use an action figure chassis like this as a general rule, but I have to admit that Hephaestus has opened my mind to the benefits of that format.

Think you'll be happy with them, there's really very little not to like.

Dammit I came to this thread hoping someone might talk me off the ledge before I buy H34EX, and all I read is praise.

Focus on how stupid Hook's leg looks? That's really all I've got for you...

Alas, it can be improved! So poor Zentropy can't escape that way.

Chosen Prime now has the parts kits in for the v1. I got a set so I might attempt the hip surgery this weekend.

I don’t actually like the Diaclone colors for the Constructicons, but Newage loves repaints, so you never know. However, while I realize they often do toon, toy, and comic decos, have they ever specifically released a Diaclone homage?

Yeah, I’m not sure how I overlooked that one, because Lucullu is high up on my most-wanted list. I guess I’ve taken to thinking of Delta Magnus as a G1 character even though he didn’t really exist as such until IDW. Personally I’m a big fan of the retconned Diaclone characters and would love to see more of them as Newage toys.
