I got a reply back from Frank at Show Z about the replacement Constructicons leg set, and he has it up for sale for $59.99.

Not sure I can be convinced to buy the new legs since I thought NA had agreed with sellers to offer them to owners of the set for free. I can handle postage costs but this seems a bit much.

Has anyone had similar feedback from other retailers?

 

Oh boy, if that's true, there's gonna be some angry Newage customers out there. $60 on top of an already overpriced set is a hard pill to swallow.

 

Has it up where? I did not see it. The only thing I see up for $59.99 is the Combiner piece.  

 

Newage Upgrade Kit for Hephaestus Devastator

 

Looks to me like the improvements are being bundled with the combiner parts there, that's why it costs that much. I would imagine Newage is supplying just the upgrade parts to retailers as well, to sell or provide separately.

 

Interesting… So they are selling them with Set D the Combiner piece??? Wow

 

I paid $59.99 for Set D when it first came out so I hope I get my upgrade legs for free. I mean… that’s what they originally promised.  

 

That's the price for Set D.
Newage said the replacement legs only for people who order a full Devastator (Set A B C D).
And actually, those pieces are NOT released yet. ShowZ probably misunderstood you (upgraded legs vs upgraded kit).

Even yesterday Newage made another announcement again to state that these legs will be for free (for those who bought a full devastator)

Yeah, I thought the same until I clicked on the Set and it did show the upgraded legs in the pictures. Hopefully it was a misunderstanding. But the pictures got me confused.  

 

I think those are updated photos, ShowZ wanted to show how the replacement parts look.
Probably for future buyers, these parts will be included in set D.
But that's definitely the price for Set D which means those parts are free, unless ShowZ wanted to charge their customers by forcing them to buy another Set D.

FIY, Newage also said that those legs will be distribute 1-1 to the amount of Devastator each seller gets. As I understand, if ShowZ got 100 Devastator sets (all A B C D) they will get 100 replacement packs. So future buyers can still get them if you buy later.

 

Ok, I guess I’ll sit myself down and wait and see what happens. It’s confusing at first glance!

Wow… I am totally diggin (no pun intended) this G2 look with the BLUE eyes.  

 

Both those decos look amazing.

 

The G2 version does indeed look nice. Those colors really work together. The EX one seems a bit underpainted for an EX version. I expected the green plastic to be painted.

 

Finally. G2 looks great, normally I hate g2 decos. But I’m definitely getting the EX, which looks awesome! Can’t wait to see what the prices are on these boxed sets.

 

That yellow version is interesting because it is very definitely not a G2 version; the G2 yellow Constructicons did not have any grey parts, and the arm-bots had purple treads instead of black. Their closest match is probably the G1 European-exclusive, non-combining Constructicons, which DID have the grey parts - but, as I said, were actually remolded to be unable to combine into Devastator. So like... technically this doesn't actually match any previous Constructicon sets?

I imagine that fans of the European deco will be pleased with this release, but personally I would much, much, much rather have gotten an actual G2-yellow release. I guess I'll buy this version eventually if no alternative is presented. I just hope they give us a G2-orange release; that's what I'm really salivating about.

 

yes, finally! definitely the yellow G2 for me instead of the EX. however i like the eye sculpt better on EX.  

also looks like yellow G2 is the only set that comes with alternative expressive combiner faces.

 

Yeah that's gonna hurt the wallet pretty bad.

I would prefer a bit more of detail on the EX vehicle modes they look bland in comparison to G2.
