Yeah, each 2-pack has 2 guns, 2 trumpets, 6 cubes.
Set D is just the Devy frame and a gun, no extra faces or other accessories

Man I have set A. Just paid for MP Thundercracker 240. Now I’m calculating how much overtime I need to earn another disposable 200 to form this Devastator.

Looking at the Devastator frame, it looks like the body bots (Hook and Long Haul) can be easily replaced with 3D fillers.

The arms, perhaps too, but it might be too costly to make, so better off buying the real parts.

I find four of the six bots acceptable, only set B (Scrapper and Mixmaster) that has hollow legs feel like they need more refinement. I wish there's a simple panel to cover the gaps rather than a total redesign, cos I like how they currently look and transform (esp Mixmaster).

#2 involves purposeful deceit, so that's out. #3 is the fallback option after trying #1.
There's also #4, which is buying a spare second-hand, particularly if it's just to replace the part you need. Should be cheaper than buying a new one.
So there's really one wise course of action: #1, followed by #4, followed by #3 if necessary.

I mean it is really up to the individual how they want to roll. I'm just laying it out there for the guy.

as far as option 4 goes that isn't all that realistic for the time being. But even in a few months I don't see there being a real second hand market of these.

I mean shit they are actually having a hard time moving these sets as it is now as fresh releases.

Future releases might not be as guaranteed as some folks previously thought or expected.

Oh for real? I didn't know that. They tend to sell more units at retailers than Magic Square.

As for the second-hand market, if they aren't selling out then at least they won't be at a premium on ebay, so more likely to find them below MSRP.

Where did you hear this? My regular retailer sold out of sets A and B weeks ago (but still has a few Shockwaves left).

really your seller must have the secret touch then. because these things aren't selling out at any of the major sites/stores. they were expected to do a lot more biz especially at their premium price. but they are having a hard time even as complete packages at the reduced prices.

I wish they had moved a little better because it helps progress the lines as a whole.

You can take it how you want I'm just saying.

I was just going by OmegaLock (the U.K. site of TFS-Express).

So yeah, the early sets still haven’t sold out at places like Show-Z yet, but a quick look at their NewAge page says they still have Shockwaves in stock as well.

I seem to recall Soundwaves and Galvatrons still being available a couple of months after release as well.

Do you have any actual insider info, or are you just guessing here?

I have actual info I wouldn't waste my time or clutter up the board.

If you aren't feeling it that's cool these things always fold out in front of us in time.

Single bots being available well after their release is one thing.

But when you have to make pretty big commitment to carry the whole set or nothing. That kind of muddies the water moving forward.

There are no 3p buy back options or credits. If the bots don't sell that is on you.

I really hope they pick up and sell well. It will ensure that more things come down the pipeline.

I don’t think it’s a waste of time - if you have actual sales data, or other evidence to back up your claim, then by all means, I’m sure a lot of people would love you to share it.

What I would say is that, surely NA would have gauged how many units to make by how many pre-orders they got?

If pre-order numbers were lower than usual, wouldn’t they have factored that in when making the figures?

Even then, given how fast NewAge churn these figures out, they could have easily seen how well (or how badly) set A did, and adjusted how many of sets B to D they made?

NA doesn't really take active live individual preorders or even deal with preorder numbers. They just sell a sku the retailer makes the commitment and they call it a day. After that it is up to the stores to do the rest.

As far as numbers and production runs go they expected it to be a big hit based off of past releases.

So far that hasn't happened and hopefully they all sell out.

But I'm sure if they don't start moving we might see the effects slowly moving forward. When it comes to all the devy skittles releases and all that fun shit that NA is usually known for.
