Everything he says in that video has already been said many times by many people in this thread:
    - MS teased Devastator ages ago, while NA never did.
    - As soon as MS showed the first concrete images of their first Constructicons, NA quickly put out an image of a 3D-printed Scavenger.
    - NA's set came to market quite quickly after the first teases, and they have finished their whole set already; MS has barely begun putting theirs out.
    - NA's Constructicons have design weaknesses that recent NA figures haven't had (hollow forearms, hollow legs).
    - NA's Constructicons have far less paint than recent NA figures.
    - NA's Scrapper has a chest design that is breakage-prone enough that it has happened to several posters here and several reviewers.

All of this has caused fans to speculate (repeatedly!) that NA was trying to beat MS to market with Devastator the way MS beat them to market with Menasor, and that this rush to market caused NA to take design shortcuts (like hollow limbs) and make poor implementation decisions (Scrapper's flimsy chest-pin). Why is this considered "creating drama for views"?

I agree with the guy who said (kind of rudely) let’s not turn this into a BSF thing. BSF as the source, I was wanting to know if there were indeed a bunch of qc issues. It sounds like there is one consistently sporadic (ha!) watch-out, im good with that answer. :thumb

    Because it’s all just speculation?

Here’s an alternative theory - these are old designs that NewAge have had on the back-burner for years.

    - lots of unpainted surfaces, just like older NA figures (such as Ironhide and Jazz)

    - hollow backs of legs, just like older NA figures (such as Prowl)

    - need an upgrade post-release, just like an older NA figure (Megatron).

It’s so easy to make up a random theory and then use cherry-picked circumstantial evidence to bolster one’s case.

I thought the same thing about these figures. They don’t feel rushed they feel similar to their earlier figures.

To me they feel rushed, just because of the outdated design :D .
In other words, it looks to me like NA had some old design, that they didn't release.
It was suspended, waiting to be improved to the standards of the most recent figures.
However, when the MST had teased their Devastator, NA decided to release theirs as it was, so they could be the first.

But personally I don't care. I am waiting for the EX version anyway, which will probably include all the improvements NA revealed so far.
Just hope I won't have to wait too long.

What's funny to me is that if these actually are older designs and if Newage would've released these a year ago before MS teased theirs, I would have definitely bought them. Since I had the option to compare both companies offerings, I decided on getting the MS set as the design is more appealing to me. The NA set just looks dated as you said. I think Newage shot themselves in the foot if they actually sat on this design and waited to release it just to take some thunder from the MS release. I know for sure they would've gotten my money if they were the only option, as the Hulkie design (which is still a fun set to mess with and was good for the time) was begging to be replaced.

I will not break Scrapper's chest. However, I do plan to break off his alt-mode canopy and lose it down the back of the sofa, in true G1 style.

I’m in the MS devy camp but I post here, I try to tread delicately. I don’t know how that is “fanboyism”, as I’m not married to either company. I have NAbee/cliffy/bugbite/seekers/galvatron. Just went MS on this one.

I've got this on the way from Terry but am late to the party and have clearly missed something - there are upgrades on the way? What do they address? Paid or free to current owners?

The upgrades are replacement legs for Scrapper, Hook, and Mixmaster. The current legs aren't popular with people due to the hollowness, so the new legs are redesigned to address this. They are free upgrades and will be shipped out to customers at a later date, possibly within a few months. For more info, get in contact with the place you ordered your set from.

Not gonna lie, a part of me thinks NA said this to get us to buy it now. I hope they follow through with this.

Someone still has to pay for shipping. Hope it’s not us.

if i had to guess i will say the retailers will hold them hostage. then they will do that whole "we will ship them with future orders" bs again.
instead of just eating the shipping to make things right.

but that is just me looking at past actions. so what do i know...o_O
