I think you answered your own question.

The fact we're finally getting mini-Masterpieces in the Generations line indicates to me that Hasbro is finally closing off the eternal vanishing point of "there's always a better ___ character". Once that's done, there's really no reason for some of us to keep going back to the well. It will be Beast Wars/RiD's/Unicron Trilogy's turn, most likely. I think Takara's Micron Legend Convoy shown last year is a harbinger of things to come - and honestly, Unicron Trilogy need updated figures nearly as bad as G1 did.

 

I really hope that turns out to be true, and not just wishful thinking.  
I would love a full Beast Wars line, scaled to PotP Optimal Optimus. And a Machine Wars line. While I'm not a UT fan, it would be great for UT fans to get their lines too. It would be awesome if Hasbro would do something like one line (BW, MW, Armada, RID01, etc) per year, just focus on that one line, then switch to focus on another line the next year, etc. Everyone would get a turn, and those that had no interest in that particular line could take a break for that year.

 

I think I'll use the Roller that came with Hybrid Style Convoy with this new Optimus.

 

Starting in 1996, I waited four years for a return to a dedicated vehicle line. And I waited ten years for a return to actual G1-related toys that weren't just homages and repaints. I think you'll be fine.

 

The articulated legs from the trailer are likely part of what's taking it a bit of time to get past the prototype stage.

The other possibility is they sell the cab, and the supermode is just his torso with Jetfire as pants and Overload as his trailer forming the shoulder cannons.

I am just so happy we\'re getting a trailer and earth Prime.  I hate CGI renders though...... am I correct that this new Prime does NOT have painted windows???  I want clear plastic like all WFC.

He looks good, looks like a LOT of new tooling, but obviously some shared pieces.  I wonder how the transformations compare.  I feel like we\'re, or me at least, nearing the end of G1 wants, but there are a lot of characters I would like to see.  A new batch of characters ala G3 would be great.  If they shift gears, no pun intended, to Unicron Trilogy or something I understand.  Not sure how on board I will be though.

This all looks great. Still, like many, I was hoping for a longer stint on Cybertron. This is THE CHUG Prime though and that Grapple is light years beyond the old Universe one.


I think HasLab Unicron fits into the 3rd part which I think will be surrounding the 86 Movie and season 3.

 

This is where I am. I jumped in at Combiner Wars after seeing years of Bayverse, Animated, Unicron Trilogy, and Beast Wars on the shelf. I buy my first transformer(Jazz) since I was a kid....join TFW after spending 20 years avoiding buying anything and there are people saying there is too much G1. I’m not bitter, it’s just ironic.

It’s quite the whiplash...some of us are recent buyers and we came back for G1 only recently. I think it’s fair we hope Hasbro completes the classic lineup before they move on to the next thing. I think Armada is definitely returning.

 

I'd buy all of that, Fan Hobby's doing an MP scale Armada Prime though.

Can't argue with that, but it doesn't mean I have to cool with it, or that I will stop complaining about it  

 

You guys really don't expect Rollor to show up in some form during Earth Rise? I'd bet money on it.

I was hoping they would do a G1 accurate base mode like this. I never had Ironworks though, but I would love to see a new Hot House which I did have.
