Wait long enough... it will happen.
Look at the hands!
He can hold his Matrix PROPERLY!
I was teetering but now this is a must buy, and I really like Siege Prime.
I pass on everything!
Do people actually think this?
Alright... Siege? Not quite but i’ll Give you that.
We had a crappy leader look like this a year or 2 ago... but the only other OP figure I can remember remotely looking anything like this is the very 1st CHUG Optimus.
None of them have looked like this.
Certainly not the TR OP.
Not even the CW OP.
Nor the WFC OP.
Or the FoC OP.
No just that 1 Ironworks pic was the only new one of the bunch.
BuT hE HaS a WeIRd tIre BuTT BaCk PaCk? In all seriousness though I feel as though this is the Chug Prime I've been waiting for.
I wonder if they did away with Micromaster combined weapon modes? Theres no mention of it in the write up or images, the cars were always silly but the Air Patrol and Battle Patrol weapons looked great, Irontread made for a great single blaster
TBH, I'm not excited about the possibility of buying earth mode Seekers who got tetrajets in Siege anytime before 2022. I'll likely buy Starscream and any other Seeker repeats anyway because of FOMO - otherwise I can probably look forward to scalper prices in the future. Maybe not, but maybe. It's that sort of obligated purchasing that irks me. I know I don't have to buy it, but as a collector, I have to buy it now or maybe miss out - the toys just come out so fast and prices for Transformers escalate quickly sometimes. MSRP or GTFO.
So yeah, I do sometimes feel new transformer toys are pouring out at a frenetic pace. I'll happily lap up an ongoing roster of characters from S1 all the way through Takara's Return of Convoy, but I hope the appearance of characters in Earth Rise who just got fantastic toys in Siege is scarce.
PoTP had a good G1 likeness and fun gimmick, but it wasn't as well built as this guy appears to be imho.
Ooof, I gotta say it stings a little to see an Optimus like this after having just dropped so much $$$ on MP44...
I was also part of the camp that was hoping for more Cybertronian modes, so I'm a bit disappointed we're going back to Earth so soon. Was looking forward to disc-Bee and cube-Jack...
Yet, there's no denying how good these figures look.
Optimus looks similar to Siege OP, but there are tons of differences:
-Front wheels go elsewhere.
-Almost NO arm kibble.
-Back kibble dramatically reduced.
-Shoulder articulation is different.
-Waist totally different, thigh articulation not the same.
-Head could be bigger? Hard to tell..
-Head reveal is different
also he has movable fingers
Am i the only one whos going to do a headswap on siege and earthrise optimus prime? And also the black guy in the hotrod patrol looks like a cross between a vintage batmobile and the hell charger
What's wrong with the head?
Another Optimus prime? Great...
It actually has more articulation than the siege one too
It just looks weird. It looks too narrow, the face mask shrinks too much into his chin. He looks bug-like. The Siege head sculpt was perfect. YMMV of course.
this is gonna be the most fun line to army build with... ill probably get a few ironworks and see what kind of nonsense i can come up with.
also, now that we know this a remake of the micromaster playset we need to be speculating on other ones damnit!
The other micromaster "stations" that would also probably be translated to deluxe class along with Ironworks
Gas Station/Greasepit (decepticon)
The head may not be final as this looks like a render. Siege Voyager Optimus got a different head when the actual toy pics came out.
Lack of space, or wanting new stuff and using old stuff to fund it. I do keep a few figures here and there that I just can't let go of, but not many of them.
That Prime. Lovely look. Grapple I'm good with. Ironworks is a surprise. I have a personal connection to that toy actually.
If they do Decepticons, expect Devastation/Combiner Wars-esque Megatron! He's certainly happening!
Separate names with a comma.
