It's hard, because the robot mode on those guys is FANTASTIC. And there was no guarantee that we'd get an Earth Mode version - I honestly didn't expect it. So I was happy enough with the Tetra jets when I got them. So I cant' even get too made about buying them twice - I just hope they're not too hard to get a hold of, and that they release all 3 again.

 

Honestly, it woulda been a bit more sunbow show accurate. But i guess that's just me.

 

Get in on the pre-order fam. I suspect that most of the earthrise line will sell like hot cakes.

To be honest I was hoping we\'d keep on the Cybertronian aesthetic for way longer but hey, these figures look great! I especially love the new Grapple since I think it is definitely time that old Classics Inferno mold be put to rest and Optimus looks really cool. It seems they\'re keeping with the idea that the toys are what people have come to see and thus so far there\'s no intrusive gimmicks which I am down for. My only complaint, as minor as it may be is the idea this Prime is a Leader class. This is purely a \"me\" complaint I will freely admit but as someone who doesn\'t really pick up this size class unless they\'ve either marketed a Voyager I love as one or the character really needs to be that big? I\'m not interested really in having a big Optimus but if it turns out this is just a case where it\'s sized like a Voyager and the Leader pricepoint comes from the trailer I\'d be down.

 

I think it's priced as a leader class because of the trailer. You look at all the other "leader class" figures in this line and they are all just armored up voyagers.

 

I know it won't be cost effective but you could always buy an extra Inferno and swap the Inferno head onto Grapple.

 

That'd be the perfect time to just fill the line with Cybertron homages

Until Combiner Wars the Transformers brand was different from G1. You may get characters from the movies, cartoons and comics that would have its G1 name or a stylized version but it was not G1. Even the Classics did not do it justice compared to War for Cybertron. Those of us who have been in it since Animated, through the years of the movies and BotCon, Beast Wars and G1 may be tired, but there are a lot of fans that feel the brand now is fresh by going back to where it started. What was old is now new. For kids and adults. It was time to go back to the basics. Especially after The Last Knight. I’m a movie fan and I knew it was time.

 

i haven't been on this site for some time cuz i was busy, but jeez, what a reveal! Grapple look great, ironworks too (who is that by the way?) but goddamn. i'm tired of getting optimus-es but seeing it has a similar function like MP-44, i'm all in. Wheeljack too, great! i'm not sure how i feel about "earth Starscream" though. Anyways, the rest are great!

 

It’s a voyager with a trailer, use astrotrain as a reference point, it’s pretty obvious from his earth modes that he was intended to be an earth rise figure, plus they’re trying to maintain a sense of bot mode scale these days
