Is Ironworks supposed to represent the oil platform that the Autobots first met the Witwickys on in the pilot?

I know earthrise obviously means these guys are gonna have earth alt-modes but cmon, after all the teasing in the siege artwork it would be a crime not o have Wheeljack, one of the very few to have their cybertronian alt-mode show up in the cartoon, not get a cybertronian toy in the wfc line.

Absolutely brilliant all round, instantly liking all of these and feeling very smug for not falling for "I'm from Cybertron, honest!" Prime or the tetrajets.
This will finally be the definitive leader of my generations autobots I've been looking for since this whole thing started back in 2007!
Hopefully I'll be able to say the same about starscream.

Grapple is great, looks almost like the masterpiece, will happily replace the existing one and inferno when he inevitably follows.

The micros are cool, great to see that these are continuing especially with Big Daddy no less. :D

Ironworks though, the absolute star of these reveals, the speculation had been reaching fever pitch but I didn't dare to dream it really would be a weaponiser with a base mode but here we are and the robot mode looks far cooler then anything I could have envisioned.

I really, really hope they manage to get all four of the base stations out in this line and I'll buy any repaints/retools they care to invent too!

Roll on Thursday for the rest of the newey newness! :D

Prime has articulated hands! And thats a great looking Alt mode to boot. Are we sure its a retool of the Siege figure?

I don't understand why everybody is going crazy over that Optimus when there's a downsized voyager MP-10 and his trailer available. Doesn't anybody else have that Optimus? This new OP is nothing special. It's $50 for something I already have. I have both Optimus & Nemesis leader class from POTP and both voyagers from KBB. This new version is just as boring & unnecessary as the Star Convoy exclusive.

That could make sense, but we just got a 86-accurate Springer in Siege. Of course, Earth Rise seems to have no qualms double-dipping into recent characters (Prime) so who knows?

So basically I wasted money on Siege Optimus and the Seekers?

Will Thundercracker and Skywarp be redone again so soon next year? If so, I'm really pissed that I spent $50 for the exclusive Skywarp, thinking this would be the only way to complete the voyager Seeker trio for a long time. It's ridiculous that they gave us figures that were so close to perfect, and literally next year we are getting replacements that we all wanted to begin with. Usually Hasbro waits a few years to replace their intentionally imperfect figures so that we keep buying them, but with this Grapple and Optimus, I don't see why anyone would ever need to get any further updates of those characters in the Generations line.

This has the potential to be the most fun, definitive G1 Optimus we've ever had. I'm definitely getting one for my 7-year-old, as well as myself... it would be a perfect Prime for him to have.

I’m just really glad generations finally has evolved into “studio series but g1”. It was the natural progression of a toyline that started with classics back in 2006.

Siege’s aesthetic was a huge break of having the classics/generations figures all be different styles but more or less fit together as a full collection, and to see siege become the outlier and not the new standard of generations makes me happy.

This is what I felt siege should of been in the first place. Seeing prime and grapple is exactly what I wanted.

Now give me the proper cliffjumper to complete 1984

first, I like when you chime in so stop being a creepy lurker and join in more.

But I totally get what you're saying about reused characters. Yes, I like Siege Optimus, but if I knew a year later we were going to get a better version, I probably wouldn't have gotten him. I didn't get the tetrajets at all, so i'm not in the boat that I spent over 200 bucks to get 7 figures which are now redone. I honestly hope that they will do what they did with the Tetra Jets and just redeco and retool to hell. I want the seekers, I want the cone heads, I want the rainmakers, I want redwing.

Ironworks is by far the most interesting one. Re-purposing a Micromaster base into an actual Transformer? That's a very clever idea!
