Thanks for the heads up. I picked up one of the boxes at Grand Canyon. There is one left according to the stock person. Be advised, they are not on the Shelf as of this post. Also, some of the newest wave is there. I saw Red Alert, Brunt, Galaxy Prime, and Smashdown.
Hey, guys! I'm popping in from the CA sightings thread because I'm heading to Vegas this weekend and wanted to check with the locals on which toy stores might be worth hitting up. Seems like Rogue Toys and the Toy Shack are the big two, even though both have some mixed reviews customer service-wise. Anything else I shouldn't miss? Thanks in advance!
EDIT: Fixed grammar and spelling errors that appear due to mobile autocorrect. It kind of depends on what you're looking for. Rogue Toys is usually your best bet. They have two locations. I am most familiar with the one more central to Las Vegas. However they do have that other one in Henderson. Rogue Toys has mixed customer reviews primarily due to the fact that they are the only real game in town. Not many people are willing to buy sell or trade, so Rogue Toys kind of controls the prices. They are also occasionally predatory when it comes to getting in things like exclusives, masterpieces or somehow getting their hands on releases early. However they are generally more fair with their pricing overall. They usually use eBay as their price check guide when it comes to vintage toys. They have a fairly decent selection of older Generations line Transformers. They also generally have an assortment of Beast Wars figures and the like. Toy Shack is located off of Fremont Street which is the more touristy area. They have a wider selection of toys in general, especially vintage. However, since it is a touristy area the prices are ridiculous. They also primarily market off the fact that they have been on Pawn Stars a few times. Granted, so has Rogue Toys but they make less of a deal of it. I would not go to Toy Shack to shop to save my life. However it is fun to browse.
I found out Big Bang Toys got Siege Jetfire in. However, they want $110 for it- which is almost a 50% markup. If you're willing to pay that, there you go. I'm not, as bad as I want to get one.
Yeah. For some reason all the small mom and pop outlets like to do this sort of thing. I mean, I get they want to make a profit but the markup they tend put on these things is almost obscene.
G1 Soundwave and his cassettes out at Walmart at 6464 N Decatur Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131 My wife picked up the full set, but there were still several cassettes and two Soundwaves.
Found the MicroMaster 10 pk. at Boca Target, not a bad set for $40. Still no luck with the Rainmakers Voyager 3-pk, but probably cuz the local Ebay scalpers matmo5769 & orange.and.oak snagged them all. That sucks for us Real collectors. Would love to run into one of these jerks. The search continues...
That's lame. Did you try the grand canyon target? They had one pack of the rainmakers in as of late last week.
Spring Mtn/Rainbow was just putting out the G1 Cassettes - 2 cases. I grabbed a set and someone else grabbed 2 sets, but there are still some there. No Soundwave yet sadly.
Target at 6371 N Decatur Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89130 has one rainmakers trio and a bunch of the new spark armor guys.
The spark armor guys are actually kinda cool. Saw some at the grand canyon target. A bee, prime, Starscream and Skyfire
My wife picked up Sky-Byte and Starscream. Sky-byte is actually surprisingly great. Neat transformation.
Hey Guys, I'm in Vegas for training this week and looking for SS long haul, the rainmakers and or Skyfire? Any sightings on these???? Thanks
Welcome! Air force? No signs of any of the new SS guys or Skyfire - we USUALLY don't get the big ticket items now that Toys R Us is dead. There's a few sightings of the Rainmakers, but it looks like they were snapped up in the first two weeks.
I work for a company and their training center is out here. Hoping to find Long Haul and the rainmakers before heading back. it seems sightings back home have happened since I left.
Las Vegas doesn't get things right away. We're also relatively small and there's allegedly about 2-3 scalpers out here who are downright despicable. Your best bet for new figures are the southeast Targets and Wal-Marts (the Boca and Grand Canyon ones are popular for new releases), as well as the far north Target on 5th ave. There's also one down south near Henderson/Silverado ranch. Honestly, we're a better town for Gundam models than TFs.
I swore I wasn’t going to buy this thing. I obviously caved although technically my wife bought it for me.
