Yes but, Spoiler unlike end of evangelion, the amount of people turning into tang is significantly low and it ultimately ends with a new world where everyone reborn and not the darkly ambiguous if they want a second chance at life in a apocalypse.
Evangelion 3.0+1.0 was great. Probably the most satisfying ending of the entire franchise (unless you're one of those damned shippers then sucks for you).
Of note, Spoiler Short version, yes. Long version: -Many characters are heavily implied to come out of the EoE scenario unscathed. -I remember only two people got turned into tang (clone rei and Fuyusuki) -People are shown to be reformed from instrumentality, unlike the EoE version where it is extremely ambiguous if people want to reform and come back (lol). -The entire ikari family reconciled and pulled a sacrifice to save their son. -Ironically it’s asuka whom was used to start instrumentality and even she got saved. -Touji and the rest of the people on the retreat are implied to be ok, since we never see anyone suffer any of the EoE mindscrew. -In a new world (which seems to take some cues from the tv show), while some confusion would probably happen, shinji and the gang are in a new world free of angels and evas without any strings attached or fridge horror benefits. Massive spoilers for those curious, though.
