This needs to hurry up bcuz if pe drops a black Lio Convoy than this becomes obsolete for me

 

Wonder how quickly they'll move on the re-tooled chest.

I guess until PE releases more info/prototype, it will be tough for Neoarts to get a jump on the changes.

Can you clarify what the new parts/upgrades are for PE's figure?
I haven't really been following either the original or the KO.

 

I wouldn't doubt that PE would make a Black Lio Convoy repaint of the new updated Leonudas this time. Since the new parts (chest & head) make it look more like the original Lio Convoy. And that could be why they didn't before and made Xerxes. I would also like to see a golden Flash Lio Convoy repaint.

 

Personally I see this more as a reimagining than a straight up tribute, and I'm all for it. I'm sick of the 'super accurate' trend. I want new designs.

 

Just what has been shown so far is a new head and chest panels styled more like the original Lio Convoy.

 

But these are not new designs they are KOs of the original great designs that Perfect Effect made, so wouldn't these be unoriginal and straight up copies of the original PE figures (except for the Eva repaint which is just coping Takara's Eva MP10).   just saying... LOL

They would, but I'm talking about PE's design, not Neoarts'.

 

So it's cosmetic rather than QC or structural? Reason I ask is that I have zero interest in whatever Japanese only cartoon character this is supposed to be. I just want the Eva Unit 01 deco. I'll pose it side by side with an Eva MP-10 KO and a Bandai High Grade Eva (gundam) kit. The three should look amazing together.

 

I have no idea about the changes to the KO. But PE made structural improvements to the design between the first release Leonidas and the second Xerxes.

 

Ah, that's what I'm trying to work out. Whether there are structural improvements on PE's that probably won't be included on these or whether they're just design changes that make PE's look more like whatever character this is. As I mentioned, I purely want this as a cool take on Eva Unit 01 so cosmetic changes probably won't be an issue. But if the old version snapped in half if you looked at it funny and the new PE one will be stronger, that's worth knowing for this KO which will probably be the same as the old version of PE's.

 

I have to say I've had no issues with my original Leonidas (so far, I'm nervous now!) but if we must have KO's I'm glad they're mixing it up a bit.

 

Love the look of this. Could not justify inflated 3P Prices for a novelty design like this, but at KO prices, I'll indulge in multiple colorways  

 

There's a video on Youtube of a Custom PE Leonidas painted in those EVA colors, and the Neoart KO has the exact same colors as far as I can tell.

Agreed, in a kind of shiesty way it's a pretty big compliment to whoever did the original custom

Granted I did something kind of similar at one time and commissioned a custom strika based of the failed and unreleased komcept toys strika from universe onslaught haha
