He eventually paid for most of his items a few weeks after the sale, but short changed me by $8. I shipped anyway and reminded him of the difference, at which point he said he'd transfer it right away. Several weeks and reminders later, I haven't heard from him or seen the extra $8. It's not so much the money, but the principle that bothers me.

Sent NP $60 via paypal for a walmart starscream via the ss exchange thread

    Nov. 14th
Got a PM saying he was waiting for someone else's payment.

    Nov. 17th
Got tired of waiting since it hadn't shipped yet and asked for a refund, NP said 2-4 days for it to clear.

    Nov. 21st
He posts in the ss exchange thread that he never actually had the items he was selling in the first place, and that the person who actually had them sold them to someone else. http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/showthread.php?t=155698&page=60

    Nov. 26th
I get sick of waiting and file paypal claim, then escalate it.

    Nov. 29th
NP sends another PM saying that he's been in jail for beating the guy up that didn't sell him the SS's that he pretended he had in the first place and says he'll have everyone's refund taken care of within a week.

    NP initiates refund through paypal.

    Dec. 8th
    I get tired of waiting.

Has anyone else that was dealing with NemesisPrime gotten their refund? I'm not trying to call the guy out like it'd the end of the world over $60. But I've been misled, lied to twice about dates for refunds, heard a story that's quite ridiculous(don't care if it's true or not). I'm pretty sure a month is a pretty good span of time to get things worked out, and they haven't been yet. I already got my 2 screamers from elsewhere, but if this guy has given me this kind of run around, I'm sure it's happened to other folks here as well.

Yeah, I've been waiting too. It's been exactly a month.

Well, if I don't hear from him today, I'm going to escalate my claim with PayPal.

I called paypal and they said there was nothing they could do except wait till he moves the funds so the refund can go through. As they'll take a week just to review your case after escalation, I'd advise you do it now if you haven't already.

Yep, I've gotten the exact same thing from him as you have, Prisoner1138 (except never got the "initiates refund through PayPal" part). I sent him a PM today saying I'd give him a couple more days before I made a PayPal claim but, hearing your account, I'm going to initiate proceedings now. Honestly, looking back at it, there's a few things about this that were setting off my BS detector early and I shouldn't have waited this long. Fortunately, I got my MP Starscream from another source.

    EDIT - PayPal dispute filed.

Yeah, I figured I would file a dispute first anyway so I did it and I'll while I give him a few days to respond.

To be honest, I'm not even sure if he cashed my check yet. Didn't get bank statements back this month.

I'm not going to jump to conclusions, though. If his story is true, then I'm very sympathetic towards it. Anyway, I'm going to go easy on the guy for now.

I've noticed he isn't on very much on the weekends, I guess we'll see tomorrow if there's a response.

Damn, sorry guys. I was hoping to avoid stuff like this when I started the thread.

It's not your fault, I really appreciate the fact that you started the thread or else it would be hard for non-US people to even get a SS at cost + shipping. :)  Sometimes you just can't avoid this stuff, it happens..

Bah, shit happens. And this aint your fault. Go back to the mp ss thread and rally more people to help out. Heck, I'm shocked this is the only issue that's come up.

No doubt. It's pretty cool that this seems to be the only real bump so far. I'm still trying to be positive and give him the benefit of the doubt, but he's not so good at communicating, especially around the deadlines he himself sets. That's what's pissing me off. I'm totally appreciative of the lengths to which he went to try and help us out. It's just taking too long with too sporadic communication to inspire any kind of confidence.

Definitely not your fault, Peaugh. That thread has helped a lot of people get the figure they wanted and this snag is something completely beyond your control. Stuff like this just happens sometimes.

That's my main problem as well; I don't think I've gotten a single communication from him, related to this matter, without having to send him a PM first. I didn't even get the Nov. 29th message until Icetron alluded to it in a PM conversation and I sent NP a PM to check up.

He issued my refund today. Like I said, NemesisPrime went to great lengths to try and get us something special. For that, a huge thanks and positive endorsement of dealing with him from me. Communication needs work, but we're all busy, and this is a shitty situation that all stemmed from a huge favor he was trying to do, so all's well that ends well and all that.

I've said it a few times: thanks for trying, and if I was harsh at all, I hope you understand the frustration on this end.

I also got a notice from PayPal that a refund was being issued today but I'm still not convinced yet because
    (a) No money has been returned to my PayPal account and
    (b) If I'm interpreting this right, Prisoner1138 had a refund issued too but hasn't gotten anything...

From the sounds of it, he could easily just initiate/issue a refund to make the PayPal dispute go away, but then never move any funds over.

Yeah, I got the same thing. Refund was initiated but I see no money in my account. I was thinking the same thing too Scantron, but I thought maybe it's not supposed to be easy to cheat the system? :/ Who knows? I don't know how long we're supposed to wait for the money either, it says Refund Pending but the status in disputes says Being Reviewed by PayPal.

It also says it'll take up to 7 days to transfer the money, and that the claim will be closed once the refund has been processed.
