I found this little piece of info interesting:

Ok has the bot list got crazy or what!

Sounds to me like there is going to be a full scale Decepticon invasion that's going to devastate the entire world. Also, the nod to War of the Worlds may just give some credit to the rumors of there being human concentration camps. So I'm thinking, Shockwave comes down, bringing the entire Decepticon army from Cybertron and starts enslaving the human race. I'm really digging that idea. Thoughts?

    I could dig that.

So let me get this right so far:

Humans turn on Autobots for causing chaos.
    Autobots hide.
    Decepticons run rampant.
Enslaved Humans wish they had been kinder to the Autobots.
    Autobots save the world.

That seems to be some of the plot points of the film when you put all of the pieces and clues together.

As long as there is some Autobot destruction by the Decepticon's Fatal Four (Shockwave, Megs, Soundwave, Starscream) I'd be loving this. If the Cons still can't damage the bots tho, it won't have much effect. In fact it'll make the Autobots look unheroic, if they let the situation get so out of hand without being defeated by the Cons, merely hiding from the humans.

Don't forget about the Cold War theme.

I really wonder how this is going to work. It's either going to be epic, or a bigger mess then RotF was...

Judging by how Nelson says that it's Independence Day, War of the Worlds, and Armageddon combined, I'm going with the latter.

Assuming he's referring to the Spielberg War of the Worlds, Transformers 3 equals three mediocre movies?

As long as the Autobots are not indestructible or they can get hurt, they can do whatever they want with the story.

But I do like what their saying.

You know, given that we know there is going to be mass carnage going on in TF3, as well as knowing that something weird is going on up on the moon is anyone else thinking that the moon might actually be Unicron in disguise? It's just a theory.

^ Wow. I think that would be too much to cram in, but still...way to go Beast Wars homage!

Hope not though, because no doubt he would just get ended before he could do anything like the Fallen + solar harvester, or the Hollywood version of Galactus.

Granted, I would only want to see Unicron in TF3 if they did him right, with a full blown GINORMOUS CG model. He probably wouldn't show up for very long if they did go that route, just because of how expensive such a model would be to render, but as long as they got some good shots of him looming over the earth or perhaps even biting a chunk out of it, I would be satisfied.

Here's my idea for how Unicron might be worked into the plot:

Prologue starts, JFK is informed that weird shit's going down on the moon, Autobots help USA get to moon so they can plant a lock (the omega lock/key perhaps) to keep Unicron from waking up.
Movie proper starts, people are growing a little resentful of the Autobots but are putting up with them. However, Shockwave shows up, steals the lock, Unicron begins to wake back up. Shockwave then uses Unicron to start making a new Decepticon army (Terrorcons perhaps?), and sends some down to Earth. Decepticons arrive on earth, blow shit up, Autobots try to stop them but end up causing more harm than good/get blamed for it, and are booted off the planet.
Sam however somehow figures out what's going on, and has to try and get the Autobots back before the big invasion begins. He does, the Autobots arrive just in time to fend off Shockwave's army, Shockwave goes "Muahaha! You haven't won yet!", and Unicron wakes up. Unicron begins to descend on the Earth and bites a chunk out of it, but Optimus arrives just in time to open up the Matrix and kill Unicron.

At least that's how I would like to see it happen.

More like this story line is gonna be 1/3 part of the movie, because we all know Sam's storyline will take like 2/3 part of the movie.

ID4 + War of the Worlds + Armageddon.

...so, instead of a relatively confusing clusterfuck, like ROTF, we get a RIDICULOUSLY confusing clusterfuck.

Reading Nelson's comment in context, I'm not thinking we should relate the storyline from ID4, WOW or Armageddon like is being suggested here in some posts. Nelson was talking about the animatics that he saw vs another post in that thread about TF3 being "Bond-like". The animatics were not bond like, they were much larger and much more epic. That's typical of what we've seen in the previous two Transformers films.

There is plenty of hope that TF3's story will be clear and not some screwy mash-up.
