Too much science fantasy, not enough science fiction perhaps?

Star Wars isn't science fiction. It's science fantasy.

I can sort of see him liking the Island, the first half is actually really good. It actually questions the morality of killing and harvesting clones's organs to lengthen our lifetimes.

It's the 2nd half that made the movie blah.

I'm most surprised by the inclusion of Deep Impact. I didn't find much in that movie memorable. I do find The Island and Watchmen to be highly underrated, and I am glad they are on the list. I have seen so many sci-fi films that I would not know where to begin with a top 10 list.

Deep Impact wasn't bad, but was overshadowed by the much worse Armagedon.

Contact was long and boring, but with some cool moments... much like "real" science I suppose.

Yeah, I can certainly see why he would like those movies, for the themes alone, if not the overall story.

Lol Watchmen isn't science fiction and I can't believe he'd put The Island above Bladerunner. Dude's a genius but he's got shit taste in movies.
