Presently building "dev-like" Decepticon. Started with the legs, using (generations) Darkmount and (tfm) Wrekage, already seven and a half inches tall I would like to get him up to four feet tall, with full articulation.
First off, good luck! I love fan made characters! I can't wait to see where this goes. I have to say however, 4 feet may be too ambitious. You're theoretically at the knee joint and only at 7 inches +/-. You are only at 12.5% of your goal height. Stability will become a major issue at that height. I personally would shoot for something in the 18-20 inch range, or maybe move up to voyager figures. Now as for a name, Since we surely are looking at 6-8 figures to pull off this combiner I'd say a name like Legion or something invoking the image of multiple beings. Look forward to seeing where this goes!
Just measured and sadly he only measures about two feet tall, still, Take that! Optimus Prime! Ha Ha Legion has your number!
my advice be carefull with those lego balljoint in that position since the wait is gonna gem them hell when this monster is done I love lego work with them all the time, most of my combiners use them but ankle joint... Hmmm I really suggest using the Lego ratcheting joints I think Lego Knight and/or Exoforce will do the trick... Lego ball joints in this scale projects better be used for heel/toes/hands/neck/elbows, the other ankles/knees/waist/torso/shoulders need stronger ones! Looks killer so far! Name?? What about ArmyBoi/WorldWarX/WarMachine/UncleSam/PeaceKeaper etc.
The "Colossus" Legion Reworked the legs after the ankle joint broke when I added the second segment. Now I have a working knee structure and the toe/heel section are jointed for support. All hail Legion!
I fear that those ball joints cannot support the weight of the upper body. Good luck with this project.
Interesting and creative project. Im a little worried like the others about the weight on those ball joints, but i hope it works out. Like the name legion also.
