I believe episode 8 is the furthest anyone's got in subtitling that series, unfortunately.

Someone who watches anime assumes subs are better than dubs. Also, none of the key voice actors like David Kaye or Frank Welker did voice work for the show.

FFFFFFFFFALSE! There are plenty of anime that ive enjoyed just as much dubbed as subbed(Getter Robo Armageddon, Slayers, alot of anime brought to NA on VHS back in the day, since i started on that shit). but seriously, some shows translate better video wise to dubs than others. Car Robots is not one of those shows in my opinion. I happen to like the voices and music better for this show.

Someone who doesn't watch anime assumes people who do favor subs over dubs. Its not always true.

I'd believe you if my high school anime club didn't show every anime in japanese.

To be fair their bias is not unfounded. Most dubs are not very good, and the English voice actors portraying them sometimes have very annoying voices.

Now if youll excuse me i have to go watch Getter Robo Armageddon episode 1 again to remind myself what a good dub is.

I also prefer the original version, although RID isn't horrible. I originally watched the Car Robot episodes that were hosted here, but was disappointed when some things were removed from it for RID. The one that stands out of the scene of Movor in orbit and the giant Dolrailer head appearing with the hash mark.

I can't find it now, but I came across a site that had the Japanese shows with subs up for streaming and downloading, all the ones that haven't been domestically released: BW II, BW Neo, Zone, and Car Robots. Keep searching, with Bing and Google.

I've only watched bits of RID and none of Car Robots, but I hear that the original version is pretty dull, and that the dub team put a lot of work into livening it up for the English version.

WPP used to do it and TV-Nihon did as well when they took over. I haven't been to either site in years and do not know if they even still exist.

I still have some of the episodes originally hosted on TFW2005 but they are very SMALL (to think most people had 15" monitors back then) and the quality is quite low as compared to today's standards.
