So if you saw I was unemployed for a bit cause the station i work at was in a fire, but were back up and running now and I feel my other show has run its course in the sense of we've done all we can do with the format.

I like to challenge myself in a sense and I've always had an interst in techno but I really do not know that many artists from it aside from the likes of Paul Van Dyk and Orbital I'm trying to find more as I wanna do a techno show I'm thinking but I wanna be more versed in the stuff before I go diving in and doing a show.

So what are some good artists in the techno area? I know it can go into many nich areas but I'm wanting to get a list of stuff to check out and see what I like so I'll take anything.

Thanks for the help in advance

Ever tried the usuals: Crystal Method, Paul Oakenfold, Massive Attack, & Chemical Brothers? Rob Dougan's an excellent choice as well.

Techno is kind of a broad range. Depends if you like House, Trance, Tribal, Electro. etc. Royksopp have a good new album out right now. Lindstrom is pretty good.

    *sigh*
I swear, you general Americans and your definition of "techno" *will* be the death of me one day. :lol

Paul van Dyk, Oakenfold, Tiesto: Their songs are cheesy euro-chart crap that gets people laid at the mediterranean clubs. When they DJ, it's a whole different story, *then* it's more like techno!
Daft Punk are hard-house beatfunk at best. NOT TECHNO.
Eiffel 65??? ARE YOU GUYS SERIOUS?? :lol  That's like the worst kind of Euro-cheese 90's rave you can find out there. Not saying it's bad, but DO NOT EVER confuse that kind of crap with TECHNO.
That's like taking a X-mart brand 'tiny tots' plastic truck and marketing it as a Takara exclusive hand-made quality collectors genuine Transformers brand item. Now we wouldn't like that, now would we? :p

    You want TECHNO?
Go on YouTube and look up the following legends:
    Jeff Mills
    Carl Cox
    Dave Clarke
    Claude Young
    Stacey Pullen
    Ken Iishi
    Kevin Saunderson
    Derrick May
    Dave Angel

and if you are up for something with a little more "kick" to it (like Draven and I favour) then give us a shout and we'll show you the way. ;)

FYI: My username, my first tattoo and most of my very extensive music collection are all homage to, or directly TECHNO related, so do not even try to question me on this issue without proper backup. Mwah mwah! ;)
