I've had this individually packaged Micromaster for years now, but know nothing of it. I bought it off eBay some time ago for cheap. Does anyone know the story behind these packaged Micromasters? It appears that they all came w/ a puzzle piece that forms a psuedo playmat. No apparent changed made to the actual toy that I can tell.
Wow they don't even have proper Transformer name? (It just says "Fire Truck", "Patrol Car" etc.) I will see if I can google something out and report back
didn't find any takara info but in the u.s. he is red hot. see him here: http://www.tfu.info/1989/Autobot/RedHot/redhot.htm maybe that will give you something to go on.
1996 seems about right for the "Block Town" Transformers releases. I had an old magazine from that time that mentioned them. I don't know much else, though. I believe that is what it was, though. A rerelease of the Micromasters under that banner.
They were released just befor BW in Japan, apparently. They do not have Transformer names, so I doubt if there's any storyline with them. They are called "American Rescue Team" (so it says on the box)
Hey there, asked a friend and he said the following: "These were released as a store giveaway. Just four individual boxes of the Rescue Patrol were released. Nothing really special about them except the box and the cardboard interlocking street scene." All the best Maz
Thanks guys for all of the info. So I guess I've a rarely seen w/ little to no demand for Micromaster rehash! I actually like the small box and the box art...probably never find the other 3 though...
