i ordered a UW grand Galvatron from Bentong District, Malaysia. That was over a month ago. Yeah seller used pos.my service and States it's economy. Now the tracking stopped in mykula 18 days ago. I contacted the seller through eBay tonight and it's the first time he has mentioned that it can take up to 3 months. Now eBay expected date is tomorrow. I've been scammed by 2 other sellers from over seas in the same time frame. lol I have not had this issue like this before since I've bought online. I've identified 2 other sellers selling way too low priced brand new 3p TFs. Those are easy to spot, but this guy just doesn't have the signs. Someone have to wait 3 months for something from Malaysia before? I didn't know where else to ask this in the forums.
No idea about Malaysia but stuff from China can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months. Asian sellers (esp if offering free shipping) will almost always go with the cheapest and slowest option. If the eBay transactions estimated delivery date has passed by more than about a week, you can probably lodge a PayPal dispute. If the seller advertised delivery by a certain date and he's missed that date by a reasonable margin PayPal will probably consider it refundable. However, if the seller listed the item on eBay with a 3 month delivery time frame you will have to wait out that period before PayPal will allow a dispute. You have 6 months I believe of PayPal protection.
I generally stay away from all Asian sellers on eBay. Not trying to be mean, but it's just the way it is. I've yet to have a single issue thus far.
As long as you're careful and sensible it's generally fine. I've bought at least half a dozen MP's off eBay and not had an issue. Look for a decent price (but not stupidly cheap) good feedback (read the actual feedback notes to be sure they're legit and not just cut and paste) and make sure the seller has sold a reasonable number of similar items and received positive feedback for em. If someone is selling an MP for $50 and they've previously been selling plastic beads and fake flowers, then it's probably a scam. It's never 100% of course and that's why PayPal do buyer protection. I have been scammed a few times on other things, but thanks to PayPal I've never been out anything more than the lost time.
My wife is Malaysian and we go there most years and usually end up shipping boxes of stuff back home (to UK). Three months is pretty normal! I expect it's waiting in a dock for the boat to be full then it'll be on it's way. Gonna have to just be patient I think. And use an air service next time!
Yeah he seems cool. He didn't advertise it would take this long. Far as the listing and eBay is concerned it should be here by today. I hate to open a dispute on an honest seller. I know which Asia sellers are good ones. The thing with me is, I kinda enjoy having validated ebay investigators to get what they need to stop accounts from continuing to steal. They always take care of me in the end. I'm watching a handful of sellers with bogus listings and it makes me nuts. I will buy from these people very rarely when eBay doesn't find anything wrong yet. So I get wronged, the process is all the sudden working. Weird to explain. I know it's stupid, messes with fees and such. Not by the buyers, by bogus listings and is rather do something. Call, or whatever it is. It gives good sellers like. Netclow or bababobo a bad rap just because of their location. Those 2 sellers or toyercity, I get my china order in a week. So idk. I'll continue with the patience deal but I'm just peeved that the seller wasn't upfront with the duration so ,, damn, idk.
I ordered a DVD set from Malaysia on eBay...Arrived with me in the UK just after Xmas, took maybe 3 weeks, and that was the sellers free postage. It wasn't a copy DVD set either, which was surprising given the price!
3 months is excessive, Malaysia is a neighbouring country of mine and normally it takes between 10-14 days for whatever I order from the US to reach me...and that's by 'normal' mail.
