Didn't really know if this belongs in here or Kitbashes. This isn't technically a kitbash so.. Anyways, I have a TM Megatron that has been broken for sometime. I was wondering if anyone would know how to fix him. Here are some shots of him that I took. I can take more if these aren't any good. http://img115.imageshack.us/my.php?image=10001806sn.jpg http://img135.imageshack.us/my.php?image=10001813nl.jpg http://img135.imageshack.us/my.php?image=10001821rc.jpg
*runs downstairs to get tm megs**spills fried rice in process* Well, I'd guess that you are pretty much outta luck. Your best bet would be to replace it. I doubt there is any way to hook that back together and have it rotate. Super glue is good if you are only going to display it in one mode.
I'm not exactly sure from your pics... but it looks almost the same as my megs. Iwas able to use a plastic welder to attach the broken piece and it seems to be holding up. I've been struggling trying to reattach his arm where the metal pin is.... so poor megs remains in sick bay for now. But the waist issue is fine.
No plastic snapped, right? It's just the screw that came undone from his waist, right? Same thing happened to mine. Just dissasemble his hips area. Be sure to take careful note of how it all goes back together. Once his hips are apart, you have access to the screw head to thread back into the bottom of the torso.
Nah, I think he is just broken. The part that screws into his legs looks like it is stripped. I think I will just have to get a new one..
Mine looked something like that. It was broken a few days after I got it. I got it on clearance at a store but couldn't take it back. Anyways, yeah i got a new screw and fixed it right up.
it would be better to score a junker with the waist in good shape other than trying to fix it... otherwise, you would need to dissasemble the waist to remove the broken piece, then remove the screw in that piece from there, glue the pieces with a strong adhesive. finally, try to get a larger screw and perhaps a small drill (a dremel would be the best choice), for stability
For an adhesive to use as a filler try an epoxy like JB Weld. But really no way I can guess at to fix without disassembling it first.
WOW, I'm glad my TM Megs only suffers from a broken waist connector piece hinge; I super glued it onec, but it snapped apart again probably because the piece is so thin and the glue didn't take hold very well or something. Wish I could help you out, but none of my toys ever break so extensively as yours did; I do my utmost to take very good care of them.
