Hi everyone, I woke up this morning and had the idea to make a CD for my dad based on his tape he listened to when I was a kid. Of course that was a long time ago, so I can only remember like 5 tracks right now, that I definitely know he listened to. So I thought, maybe someone here knows songs that fit very well with the ones I'm gonna post, that might possibly of the same music taste? Here are the ones that I have: Terry Jacks - Seasons In The Sun Zager and Evans - in the year 2525 The Equals - Baby Come Back David Dundas - Jeans on Mungo Jerry - In The Summertime The Mamas & The Papas - California Dreamin'
Well you can do a search on YouTube of what era this music comes from. Then you can go to Google and do a search for popular music of what year. Then what bands where the popular band to listen to THEN. I think if you do that you might come up with a ton of ideas. So as i said with YouTube you could possibly get a listen of the song as well.
Your dad has good taste Here’s a handful of suggestions that are similar to those, off the top of my head: Question Mark & the Mysterians - 96 Tears The Cowsills - Hair Starland Vocal Band - Afternoon Delight The Zombies - Time of the Season The Cyrkle - Red Rubber Ball The Byrds - Turn Turn Turn I’ll see if I can come up with more. EDIT: The Lovin’ Spoonful - Daydream, Do You Believe in Magic The Monkees - Daydream Believer
Tommy James & The Shondells - Crystal Blue Persuasion The Hollies - Bus Stop Don McLean - American Pie Donovan - Sunshine Superman Looking Glass - Brandy (You're A Fine Girl) Barry McGuire - Eve of Destruction Canned Heat - Going Up the Country Three Dog Night - Shambala America - A Horse With No Name The Moody Blues - Nights in White Satin Scott McKenzie - San Francisco Cornelius Brothers & Sister Rose - Too Late to Turn Back Now The Vogues - Five O'Clock World The Rivieras - California Sun Herman's Hermits - There's a Kind of Hush Gerry & The Pacemakers - Ferry Cross the Mersey The Yardbirds - Heart Full of Soul
Take It Easy and Peaceful, Easy Kind Of Feeling, both by the Eagles. Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits Wheel in the Sky by Journey Good Vibrations by the Beach Boys Old Time Rock and Roll and Against the Wind, both by Bob Seger and The Silver Bullets
Sounds like 60s era music - and to that I refer you to my mom's own personal choice mix; Sixties Classics https://www.amazon.com/60s-Classics...B3YXYBHQQQ4&psc=1&refRID=VFJZD0EAKB3YXYBHQQQ4 Check the track list and you should have plenty to work with
He had, nowadays he listens to crap, that's why I got the idea to give him something he liked back then, so he could listen to good music again Thanks everyone for the input, I will listen to it later. I hope that I will be able to emulate the feeling I had when we were riding the car and listened to his music, so I will be able to choose the right tracks. But I already saw some good suggestions that will probably fit. If your interested I might post the playlist, once I chose the tracks. And I gotta find out if his car has a CD player or if he needs mp3 or what he has these days
How about these? San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flowers in Your Hair) - Scott McKenzie Live For Today – The Grass Roots Follow – Richie Havens Today – Jefferson Airplane
