Dear all, My knowledge of Transformers Figures outside of Binaltech and masterpieces is limited. What articulated transformer could serve as a sniper that blends well with binaltechs and alternators? Thanks! Something like this guy:
Well The Sniper of Choice for alternators/ binaltech is Mirage. Mirage as a character was the G1 Sniper or as the techspec played it down as a "marksman." Speaking of Mirage The classics toy has the most articulation out of any figure in mainline transformers. But I think if you want something more befitting that specific looking mech you pictured then go with either of energon Dreadwing/Mirage (repaints). It will give you the gundam legs and wings you want. http://www.cliffbee.com/reviews/images/edreadwing.gif Being Ultra/Mega Class They won't look out of place with your big robots. They can hold sniper rifles if you can get one to fit the standard 5mm port. Your best bet is to get a loose g1 colors energon starscream: http://www.unicorncottagecompany.com/starscream/shrine/e-2-3.jpg As you can see his sword is quite long because its a combined weapon. Plugging the peg on the far left into dreadwing's hand will make the huge sniper rifle. You'll likely get a very reasonable price for the energon starscream as your weapon choice if your looking for one that has the accesories but is missing the blue missles.
thanks everyone esp. grimwing, I had energon dreadwing in mind as well. actually, I know him better as superlink shockfleet, we got more takara versions than hasbro when superlink was showing in my area. This is the only one with double jointed elbows. any other suggestions?
Armada Smokescreen's huge gun always seemed like a big sniper rifle to me. Not that I'm recommending it - especially since aurascope wants something to fit in with Alts - but I've always thought that. Maybe Cybertron Defense Scattorshot or one of the repaints? He's a bit shorter than the Alts, but his weapons kind of fit the desired goal (one looks like a long range rifle, the other has a targeting screen).
Walmart exclusive ROTF Bludgeon could work for that gundam. Give it 5mm gun and your all set. Aestheticly I just like the molds mecha design and the emphasis on mecha legs particularly reminded me of it. Whirl might also fall within your tastes but not for this specific project. Classics/henkei astrotrain has a fairly sizable gun and it has a scope! I guess I'm throwing these weapons around because you need a certain weapon to have a sniper and a proper body to meet your aesthetic. Without that aesthetic you could make cybertron scrapmetal and legends thundercracker great snipers.
Last I knew the Whirl vs. Bludgeon set is a TRU exclusive, not a Walmart exclusive. Ramjet and Skywarp are the two Walmart exclusives we've seen so far.
I looked it up. Nobody has confirmed what store is getting them. I've just been assumeing walmart because skywarp and ramjet were found at the same time by the same poster. For fun: http://www.tfw2005.com/resources/rotf-decepticons-384/decepticon-bludgeon-2092/#info
Thanks for the help, guys. My neighbourhood model shop sells kotobukiya sniper rifles. so I was hoping to find a transformer that could serve as a sniper. movie wreckage is excellent, but he's too small. probably good for a repaint into MP Prime's roller. http://www.hlj.com/images/kby/kbyaw-05.jpg
