I was also sure that it is Crystal Rodimus....
Well the colors are not the same, the roof is blue (like in other prototypes i so), there are no stickers, and there is the issue of the parts numbers...

In which case I'm stumped. Your best bet will probably be The_Spacebridge, he's a massive Hot Rod afficionado.

Ah, I neglected the second photo. Wasn't really paying attention to the windshield differences. Everything thing else seemed to line up. And I figured that the chest sticker just wasn't applied. It looks like could be a knock-off after all. I'm not finding anything else.

Where was it obtained? Could be a test shot of the reissue, or a customised Crystal Rodimus. AFAIR Takara never ever made all-clear toys during G1. Could be a "lunch time special" (those were rampantly abound back when the reissues started).

So it's a test shot from the reissue, but it's odd to me that it has a silver painted face instead of a normal painted face.

Hey guys sorry I was MIA, been super busy.

    Here is some archived stuff.

The first public testshot of Reissue Hot Rodimus for the 2001 J-Reissue line was like so.

The more I look at this.... the more I question.

The original Crystal Rodimus (and all Rodimus from that point on, had metal feet) so it's not some run of the mill bootleg. Also having a date stamp really makes things complex. Going to dig more into this.

I think this was one of MANY test shots for the E-hobby release.

    Is it for sale =P
