I'm wanting to add a few paint details on my MMC Ocular Max Trailbreaker (Terraegis).

The first thing I want to do is to paint these shoulder 'vents' red.

At first I was going to just use a Sharpie oil based paint marker as I've used that very successfully in grooves before, however, I'm realizing that these are kind of a weird angled surface and I think it would just pool inside and may not have very even coverage.

I've mostly only used brushes before, but I'm wondering if I ought to get some spray paint for this. I think I can remove the shoulder and mask it out.

Or do you think I can get a decent look with a brush? Should I use a base coat of something? Or just several thinner coats of red?

Thanks in advance for any advice! This is a great figure but I think it would look even better with some added touches...
