I really like Ikea. Most of you like the Detolf, but I would love the bigger ASPVIK IKEA | Cabinets & sideboards | Display cabinets | ASPVIK | Glass-door cabinet

My problem is, is that IKEA's too far out of the way, and shipping is outrageous! I cannot understand why the shipping is so high. You do have to assemble the thing, right? I've ordered Huge Entertainment Centers with a lot of glass from Racks and Stands.com and it was very reasonable w/FREE shipping!.

Is there a normal retail store that sells something like the ASPVIK for a reasonable price? All I want is something large that's enclosed, with a glass door.

My closet is bulging with G1's, and I need to get a cabinet!

None that I can think off right of hand.....

You might be able to find a fairly cheap curio cabinet at a local pawn shop or yard sale....

Check ebay you can find some great ones on there. If all else fails whip out the hammer and get to work. I did that once.

Well I thought that at least one person would know, since you guys do keep your collections in cabinets, and not a closet like me. Thanks for the post, I feel smarter now.

I googled curios a few weeks back and was able to get a couple 6.5' curios for $77 each including delivery. They are very nice and have glass doors and sides. I've checked and the sale is off where I got them but you might be able to find something else out there.

Pay no attention to Kryptofred... we are mostly all toy collectors here, so naturally shelving is a concern for all of us. Your question is more than appropriate.

I personally don't like the Detolfs because for the price, you don't actually get very many shelves. It's good for tall figures, but unless you have additional internal platforms, there's going to be a lot of wasted space. They are attractive though, and neutral enough to go with most decors.

However... after saying all that, I have to say I'm loving the EXPEDIT shelf (4x4 cube size) I recently got to help arrange my TFs and stuff. But then, that's IKEA too, so that doesn't really help you. Unfortunately, I've really been disappointed with the lack of interesting shelving available at most chain stores (Walmart, etc...)

I wasn't trying to insult you man, just pointing out something I though was funny about the original post. Sorry if you found it offensive.
